Every good piece of play from us...

...started with Ar Fred's left peg.

    RE: Colace was superb

Totally agree. If we can reproduce that type of display throughout the season, the relegation threat would not be in the equation.

    RE: Wind up?

Never read so much toss in one thread (thats probably not true actually but never mind). Emil was great, Kozzy was better than I could have imagined (after a dodgy start), and I was really impressed by Julian Gray other than his marking for the first goal. That was a very good starting 11 that Manure put out last night. Those players cost a fortune to put together. I was told that the french winger cost 12million and I read a piece yesterday where Ferguson was raving about him. Reckons here was the hotest prospect in Europe before his recent back injury. For me, they all played very well and im full of optimism for the rest of the season. Only (on field) negative for me last night was how ineffective JCR was when he came on. I cant imagine him ever sucessfully taking a player on these days. He slowed us down every time he got the ball when we really needed to keep the tempo up. Dare I say that Devaney might have been a better option?

i think there,s sommat here that wear not grasping. mark robbins has made all the right changes that most of us would go along with, apart from the inclusion of jcr think there,s a bigger picture here.

    RE: agree mate

he was very quick to bring the cards out, it was one foul, one booking whereas in the Championship players seem to get a couple of fouls before. He did however not shirk from sending Neville off so credit him for not looking the other way.</p>

    RE: Wind up?

Steele - 7 - Very solid in goal and made some good saves. Couldn't have done much about the two that went in.

Kozzie - 7 - Made some brilliant challenges in the first half and got some crosses into the box. Went a bit quiet in the 2nd half maybe due to match fitness and the fact we were creating most the chances

Gray - 6 - Didn't stand out much in the game but looked composed. Think he helped nullify the threat of obertan's pace, this is prob why he was chosen ahead of unfit hassell.

Moore - 8 - Solid as a rock at the back and won everything in the air. Made one sloppy pass that nearly cost us but a fair choice for MOTM.

Foster - 7 - Played well at the back and looked dangerous at set-pieces.

ADS- 7 - Brilliant in patches then would go a little quiet. Got himself into shooting positions but should have done a little better.

Ice Man - 7 - Got stuck in at the tackle and was at the start of many of our moves. However, at times I felt he held up play a little looking for a pass. When on the counter I would like to see him run at the defence and try a shot/through ball than lookign for an easy sideways pass. Overall played well.

Colace - 7 - Did the graft in the middle. Nothing too glam but I thought he did a lot of the hard work preventing Anderson from having much say in the game.

Hammill - 9 - Looked a class act and will be giving that De Laet bad dreams. Looked hungry for the ball and always tried to make something happen. Was the catalyst for most our moves with his silky running. Corners in the first half were top drawer.

Macken - 6 - Never really looked a threat and looked a yard of the pace at times. Played some good link up stuff with Boggy.

Boggy - 8 - Was a real handful for their defence and was unlucky not to score with the header. Looked like the only forward who might score. Thought he showed some class on the ball too, the back heel flick ons etc. Staked his claim for a starting place with Hume or Gray on Saturday.

    Subs:

JCR - 4 - Didn't have any impact on the game. I thought MR was right to bring him on to have a real good attack but JCR seemed to slow the play down. Must be below Devaney in the pecking order now.

Butterfield - 6 - Had the one real threatening shot of the match. Looked good on the ball as always.

Hume - 6 - Linked up well with boggy and gives his usual 100%.

9 maybe a bit generous but I like him lol.

Prob 8 is a fair grade. I don't think the Utd defenders could handle him running at them
