I was replying to Whitey though. I will never bring Hill into a conversation but if someone else has already mentioned him then I will comment on the odd thread.
In fairness to Hill he only started complaining about money because fo the distinct lack of patience and understanding from fans, which in turn manifested itself in to a local media who badgered him constantly. And he also had very valid points that the current system is inherently unfair. The moment we stop highlighting that injustice the battle is lost. Plus he wouldn't have had to explain that we do well to survive in this league on our budget if people realised that it is a fact. Once people do realise it we can all move on and never talk about it again.
I'm really looking forward to next season, assuming we keep the management team. Not only should Flicker have a bit of money to spend following recent player sales, he'll also have a fully fit squad to choose from for the first time this year. I only think we need a couple more additions to the squad to really compete in this division. We've got a lot of strength it depth so if we just target another quality centre half and another striker then we'll be good to go. Golbourne will be like a new signing. I'm looking forward to him and Wiseman playing in the wing back roles either side of one of the best midfields in the division.
Id settle for a season exactly like the last one some good away days, a memorable Cup run and (albeit sweaty) survival in the Championship.
I expect the board to screw up and lose Flitcroft and his backroom boys, release the wrong players. Appoint a clueless manager, and sign a load of *****. Then face the usual struggle again.
You really are the life and soul.Take some deep breaths, absorb what we've just done, enjoy your Summer break and see what develops over the next few months.
