I think the all seater stadium thing doesn't help. Everybody is spread out, so you get the people who would normally sing, spread out among the families and people who moan when you get excited. I'm not sure how other teams manage it, but it really seems to make a different at oakwell. You can tell in the away matches, when people sit wherever they want, you get the natural groupings and singing kicks off more naturally.

It would be difficult to organise and manage, but would it possible to 'suggest' different areas of the ponty, to try to get like minded people sat together? It might help lift the crowd. I went to a zenit st petersburg match last year, behind the nets were different supporters groups. Where you could only sit in that section if you were a member. They did these organised songs and displays, it was a bit over the top, but they produced a great atmosphere.

Other than that, we usually need a spark to get going. A bad tackle, or bad decision seems to kick things into life. Decent passing football could do it, but that looks like a step too far.

Yep it seems like the actions of opponents and bad refereeing are what get us angry and behind the team more. A bit like Odejayi tother week when he had been booked and ran straight at the defence only to realise he weren`t that angry.
