Good on him. Too many times Max’s go kart driving gets completely overlooked. He’ll rival Lewis for world championships within a decade but really is the poster boy who can do no wrong.

I didn't think the first lap incident was worthy of penalty either but I don't see how anyone can claim Hmailton didn't leave space when Max left him even less in that opening lap. I suspect that's why Horner hasn't outright tried to blame Hamilton.
Personally I'm just enjoying seeing a proper battle for the championship and some needle between the two top men.

I don't think either will get penalized, but looking at the whole incident I'm leaning towards it being MV's fault. He was ticking after the pit stop, and I think he lost it. On the subject of that, I really hope Red Bull give him a real bollocking for his comments in the pit lane and make him apologize to the entire crew. They have been the best crew of recent years, and their great work has helped him win countless points. To lose it like a brat over a single incident was embarasing.

Got to mention the halo though. How many lives has it saved in the short time it's been around? In my opinion, the most important development F1 has ever made...

Which programme was this on? I record the lot but only really watch the race, would be interesting to say the least to see all that!

I know very little about F1, so I'm not gonna even offer an opinion on the crash. my only observation is that whenever there is one, both drivers say it was the other person's fault.

3 place grid penalty for max. That's extremely harsh in light of the penalty given to Lewis a few weeks ago for a much clearer fault accident

I don't think Silverstone was clearer at all but I'm not going to get into that one again. Max needs to control his temper as he had totally lost it after that pit and was reckless from thereon in.

Max getting a 3 place grid penalty is a strange one. I didn't think either was at fault really. All the main pundits including Martin Brundle said Max did nothing wrong. Racing incident for me.

Silverstone. Pretty much everyone was in agreement who was at fault then (whilst acknowledging that it happens) people are split 50/50 today

That’s not true at all mate. I’m not going over old ground on that but it wasn’t that unanimous in the slightest.

Mercedes even provided the timings and speeds in to that corner which was a pretty fair defence.

And Red Bull sent Albon out on track a few days later to try and prove their point which pissed off pretty much all the other teams by all accounts.

The fact that Christian Horner didn't try to point the finger at Lewis today speaks volumes. If it was 50-50 he 100% would have been.

Opinion definitely wasn't unanimous. Still think Hamilton was more at fault for that one. Look, it's a tight championship battle. Every point counts. I could easily imagine Hamilton trying to take the same opportunity today that Max did. It's racing I guess. I really struggle to pin the blame on either for today. Couldn't believe my eyes when it came up Max had a grid penalty for Russia, very bizarre considering the vast majority of pundits and experts seem to have said racing incident.

Horner is always pissing off the other teams. So vocal when criticising others but goes silent if his driver is at fault.

I can understand a small debate over who’s fault it might be today, but nobody is pointing at how Max completely let his emotions get the better of him. You can’t do that when driving a Formula 1 car. It was reckless and dangerous. The importance and pressure of how every point counts got to him today and he didn’t handle himself positively at all.

Call me cynical but I always have a feeling there’s a soft spot for Red Bull and Horner, in terms of the access they get pre-race, mid-race, and throughout the production. I don’t feel they’d go deep on criticising Max even if he was 100% at fault as they wouldn’t want to lose that access.

It was fairly unanimous from commentators pundits and driver's wasn't it? Was only mercedes and fans who argued. That's what I mean

Lost what little respect I had for Max today after not even checking on Lewis. Seb etc wouldnt have behaved like that. Look at how Seb checked on Lando the other week when he didn't need to stop. Max's rear tyre hit his helmet ffs.

I won't even start on Horner!

Wasn't that because they were arguing about the penalty not being enough though? I only recall mercedes saying Hamilton was blameless

Mentioned that in an earlier post. Stormed off thinking about himself after just landing on top of Lewis’ car. He’ll regret that behaviour when he looks back.

Got to hope it’s all part of the journey we’re all on and he’d act differently when there hopefully isn’t a next time.

What im trying to say is that they go too far and need to wind their necks in. Whingeing constantly on the radio. Perez needs to learn to cede his position immediately too if he leaves the track.
