Webber beat him fair and square today - until Vettel arogantly disobeyed the team and effectively cheated to win by turning his engine up while Mark's was still down, preserving the car.
Multi 21 Seb, Multi 21! Class race. Let's not forget about Nico either - totally shafted by team orders. Disliking Hamilton more and more
Maybe they should allow teams to have one car to avoid all this nonsense. Even better, just have one car each, then draw lots before each grand prix to see which driver gets which car. Or make em all drive a car with the same spec. That would even up the competition and make it a lot more interesting. I think there are alot of people like me who can't be bothered watching the "sport" as it's not about who's the best driver.
Personally think races like today are what make F1 worth watching. Watch the film Senna - now that WAS racing. The battles between Ayrton and Prost make this look like nursery
It was a dirty trick. If they had an understanding they would both ignore team orders, then that would be racing. Mark could have done that to him on numerous occasions and it's a slap in the face to a team mate who has protected Vettel's leads and helped him to world titles. Thing is, Vettel will be remembered for stuff like this, rather than being a half decent driver.
On a lighter note, can anyone lip-read what Lewis's bird said when he pulled into the wrong pit? Is that the lass from from X-factor?
Nowt toneet for you lad If Udinese U21 team play Watford in a couple of years in some UEFA inspired competetion is it right that Udinese should win as they would be classed as the parent (no1) team????....there would be outrage! Haven't watched F1 for years cos of this.....that and the fact I had to watch it with the sound off as the WWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOW......(repeat 3000 times) drove the missus :nails: n me mad
I enjoyed the race, but I have to admit that the team orders ****** spoiled it for me towards the end. I can't stand Vettel as it is, but today he's proven what an odious little pillock he truly is. A lot of similarities with Schumacher, in terms of driving a car that's so much better than the rest, getting favoured by his team over his teammate, and driving like a **** on occasion. But it's won him 3 titles, just as it worked for Schumacher. I'm a big fan of Webber. He comes across as a decent bloke. I think he deserved better treatment, certainly from his teammate, who he has helped to win those 3 titles. As I've said before, Lewis is my favourite driver. I had a liking for Kimi until he retired, but Lewis is the best 'racer' I've seen since the legendary Senna. However, today he was eclipsed by Rosberg, and I feel slightly for the latter. But at least Lewis and Nico were respectful with each other. Unlike the odious pillock that 'won' the race. Overall, I've enjoyed the first two races. Both Nico and Lewis are decent in China, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a Merc one/two. Here's hoping. *oh, and Hemsworth - please try not to reveal the winner next time. It didn't affect my viewing today as I stayed offline until the BBC re-run, so that I didn't know the result. But it can ruin it for others who refuse to pay for SlySports. Thanks.
My money would be on the answer to that question being no. But who knows really... I think if you're a good enough driver, you don't need a no1 status in a contract and I reckon Lewis will be thinking along those lines. Nico drove a more measured race today though, as Lewis admitted.
He didn't. At least not in the thread title, he didn't. He started a thread about Vettel but the title in no way stated that Vettel had won the grand prix. As I said earlier, the title of the thread could just as easily have been F1, Webber, Red Bull and gone on to talk about how Webber was screwed by Vettel who overtook him to win. Had he done that would he have been accused of giving away who won?
Of course he will have done. They were trying everything to get him to move to Mercedes. If he didn't have number 1 status in his contract then he's stupid.
