Obviously, I believe you! You clearly have a marvellous memory. I don't recall much about the 3-1 win at Vale, other than the score, that we played well and that Hewitt, in particular, had an excellent game. He was a very talented player, who had a less illustrious career than one might have expected.

I remember seeing him play for Scarborough against us in a friendly at their old Marine Road stadium some time after he left us. Good player.

    Ahem!

History repeats itself and my prediction correct. I think I should log in to my lottery account and buy a couple of lines for tonight

wasn't that the Stockport game when we stripped him and chucked the little 2hat off in just his briefs somewhere over the tops Barnsley side

In 66/7 i think it was, i remember the Port Vale fans gathering at the bottom of the hill and lobbing a brick at the 2nd Chippy Rowe coach which my dad and myself were on.
Young Arthur Rowe who was driving the lead coach, put his foot to the floor and they all scattered, Unfortunately our driver, Bill ? ( for Cudworth folk, Bill lived in the pinfold cottages) slowed down, allowing them to regroup .
The brick bounced off the window where we were sat
Unfortunately it put a small hole in the glass but in no time the window was completely gone as we travelled home]
The bus was absolutely freezing due to the state of the weather, ice and freezing fog, we didn't get back to Cudworth until way past 3am
I also recall my dad going straight to work not long after we got in
( he worked at Grimethope pit) I got the day of school but played on it saying I wasn't well so managed to wangle the rest of the week off ( hated school )
The Vale and Stoke fans had a terrible reputation around that time.
