Then why do the minutes have to be approved by the club before publication. Minutes are supposed to be a true and accurate report of everything that was discussed. If the club is redacting them then they cease to become minutes and are rendered pretty much worthless IMHO
Do these things well and they work wonders in terms of engagement, do them how bfc seem to do them and it's worse than not bothering at all. It's not got off to a great start, big opportunity postponed, if not totally lost.
And it isn't a one off. There have been complaints about the minutes for months and months. Ironically it's in previous minutes about how slow the minutes are.
I've got no beef here with anyone. I'm not annoyed or frustrated or anything of the sort that the minutes of this meting have been delayed. But I feel like I should bring up a point of order... The text of the pre-match interviews with Clarke is AI generated (and not edited). The club have access to this software and use it all the time. The minutes of the meeting would take seconds to generate. Editing and redactions would take longer, but no, what you've claimed isn't a thing.
One thing I already suggested would be to use MS Co-Pilot to make a start on the minutes. It would mean meeting on Teams rather than in person. Personally, I don't see an issue with this since I spend most of my working life on Teams and a few of us have some distance to travel to Barnsley.
You're probably right. But they're obviously not using that - might be something that'd help everybody. It's definitely a thing that writing up minutes in a traditional way is pretty time consuming, though.
Yet people wonder why confidence in the club is at such a low. When you little the little stuff like this slide it just makes you wonder about everything else and to be honest I’m not even shocked, surprised or disappointed just come to expect it.
Is that similar to Google's Gemini? I pop that on for meetings at work and it sends over an exact transcript word for word from a Google Meet and a very good summary of the meeting, within minutes of the meeting finishing - Great piece of kit! You could still meet in person, but have the AI tool/meeting open in the room and it would work the same
Why should the club have any right or say on “approving” the minutes for a FAN advisory board. Pinch me, it’s like Barnsley has moved into the USSR. Let me guess some fans were not complementary of the transfer window and mladen + co don’t want to be proved wrong.
Your guess is completely wrong. It's to ensure that commercially sensitive information isn't released into the public domain, not for anything like what you have suggested.
The lack of rigour in the process is disappointing to say the least Gally. But why isn't the FAB is holding the club to account over this?
Because these minutes were from February? So what is taking so long, could understand your argument if the meeting only took place last week.
I agree that it's taken too long, but they're not trying to hide an opinion that was expressed, they're just not very efficient.
'They're not very efficient' That is being extremely kind, so lets say there are conflicting issues with the release of these minutes, why not disclose that to the public? Silence is deafening
It's one of two things in my opinion. Either, the Club are so inefficient that they cannot and have not managed to carve out a bit of time to cast an eye over the minutes, which is absolutely pi** poor. Or, they consider the FAB to be of such little importance and treat with distain that they feel they can chuck the minutes to the bottom of the in tray on a daily basis, knowing full well that those on the FAB won't kick up a fuss and they (The Club) don't really care about the FAB. That's not me attempting to disparage any member of the FAB, but the Club. It's patently obvious that we're using "inefficient" to describe the Clubs' approach, as opposed to describing it as it should be... Disinterested.
