Judging by the wording I believe what he meant was, in football terms. Marius the giraffe is a proper Wednesday or Donny fan, a total inbred and his gene pool was not as strong
I posted as it's not something that happens just in other countrys, it happens in the UK too. It is appaling the practices that these places get away with, especially when other places said they would take poor Marius.
Re: oyyy do not make me draw missen up to my FULL hight... You don't need to draw yourself up to three feet six to achieve that!
Yes Jack, he was. His well being was their responsibility. If he had moved to Yorkshire he would have entered a well removed gene pool.
Re: oyyy do not make me draw missen up to my FULL hight... absolutely ludicrous maybe they could dispose of 20,000 wednesday fans on the same grounds?
If I misinterpreted the tone & point of your post, mate, then I apologise. It simply struck me that to say "Yet in England its ok to destroy " inferred that Paul was raising the issue with the zoo because it was in Copenhagen and conveniently ignoring what has happened at Longleat because it's in England. As I say, please accept my apologies for my mistake.
I dunno mate. Yorkshire said it received no response to their offer, these comments appear to have been made posthumously. The genes of that young male will be the same as his parents, who are obviously deemed of of breeding stock. Copenhagen is on the back foot now I suspect, after being slammed internationally. It all reeks of fascist eugenics to me. But this atrocity it isn't all about zoos. Things like this will have a massive impact on other animal welfare campaigns such as the ivory trade, trophy hunting, the disgusting revival of fur, as well as our own domestic wild mammals and birds. You may think that's being a little over the top, but look at Redarmy's response to my post. That really is typical. 'If this is okay, surely this is?'
Neither have I Kev, it's a bit hard to get to for non-drivers. But it would be great to join you, when I'm back sometime.
No and rightly so. The main strength of the BBS is that although it's primarily a Barnsley supporters forum, it's also much more than that. Just because certain threads are non football related, doesn't mean they can't be discussed on the main forum. It's always worked like that over the years in it's various formats and, in my opinion, long may it continue as such.
Well, I'm going to wait until the Summer when Laura's back from uni. If you're up, then you're more than welcome to join us, mate. You know I'll demand an ice cream, though!
Nowt wrong with asking the question, mate. The non football threads have been known to become quite, err, lively & passionately debated!
