Surprised the club needed the questions at all, nevermind so soon. The first time they heard what people wanted to know should have been on the night, to think on their feet. Now they have over 24 hours to prepare their replies in fine detail. Oh and and the Nice friendly needs to be more precise as in an away friendly
Surely if they demand all the questions in advance then there is no need for a meeting? All they need to do is use the official site and publish the answers. Seems a bit odd to have people there in person but just reel off a load of pre planned statements.
Would ordinarily agree with this, but I think given the amount of detail required to answer some of the questions it does make sense to give them a bit of notice. It's very easy for them to bat some of the more intricate questions above away on the night if not. Some of the above questions could be held back, of course, but it's a fans forum not an inquisition.
It's a bit like Prime Ministers Question Time in Parliament, where the questions are submitted in advance to allow the PM and her advisors, to hopefully provide a plausible response. I personally think it's good to have such a forum, so when they (the Barnsley FC Board) give their answers invited guests can comment , express a different opinion, or request clarification.
Last thing you want is a freeforall where nothing really gets answered. I'm glad there'll be a structure to it.
Any recommendations for Nice restaurants? Can we move players tunnel before next season when we’ll be in championship and need every advantage?
Who would win a bare knuckle scrap? Keefier or Dimi In all seriousness... Theres a post knocking about on the facebook about an alledged nonce living up athersley after being encouraged to leavr Darfield. The same worked accross a number of Bars in the Eaststand for at least two seasons. Can the club confirm what safegaurding measures are in place to ensure convicted nonces are not at the ground putting young kids at risk Can the club also confirm what precautions and measures external suppliers have in place to prevent the same.
Do you also expect the club to go around Barnsley putting out fires and administering CPR, or is it just the police's job you expect them to perform?
No but I would expect that anyone employed by the club either directly or indirectly to have undertaken a DBS check given the close proximity and access to children these employees have. I’d also expect the police to liaise with the club to make them aware of any potential issues that may arise from a convicted sex offender attending a game. Basics really.
Apologies, didn’t realise you meant staff members. That I agree with 100% and I would be shocked if that wasn’t already in place. I just don’t think it’s realistic to expect a procedure that doesn’t let any convicted sex offender into the ground, as much as I would be completely for that, of course. Not without it taking 13 years to get everyone into the ground at least.
