I mean you're assuming it's paid to start. Wouldn't be unheard of for a very wealthy woman to give her child opportunities and support her by footing the bill.

The point is nobody knows so it's pointless speculating imho.

You keep saying this, but she went to Stanford and then her first job was in PE. Proper impressive early CV. I doubt she's going to be happy being a skivvy.

This. I'd be pretty chuffed a business the size of BFC has kids with this pedigree

    It’s JAQs kid? Seriously?

And you’re right… we do have a history of taking the piss with exploiting unpaid interns.

Either way it’s not a great look in the context of things.

Is it that JAQ has never lied to us and denied that her offspring is working at the club and then got angry when people called her out on the monstrous lies?

Probably. Because Patrick never told us a 'monstrous lie'.

Did she lie about her daughter working here? Genuine question, I haven't exactly been keeping up with this conversation!

Looking forward to what statistical player identification model that James Cryne was brought in to do so be interesting to see what benefits to the club that new role should provide us.

The Chief of staff to the CEO sounds like a posh name for a secretary type role tbh.

It's like questioning what benefits a ticket office manager brings in comparison to a first team coach. They're completely different and even if it is an Executive Assistant type role, they're still v important for a multi million pound business.

    Hmmm.
It becomes less impressive if the PE job was as a result of family connection. Not saying it is, as I don’t know, but we both know that money helps your CV.

I don’t think this is a great look. I don’t like the idea of inequitable recruitment process, much prefer people to be appointed on merit. Maybe she has, I dunno, but it doesn’t seem very likely.

This particularly resonates when the job role seems superfluous to a sub £20m turnover business, particularly one that’s making a loss..

Maybe she’s working for free, if so, I get it, but shall reserve judgement until we have a few more details.

I don't think we can get annoyed about nepotism when you consider the last ten years. I get it, but I don't think people giving family members a job in the business they own is particularly new news in any walk of life.

I do think the world has changed in the last ten years mate.

I also think it’s a little bit different if you’re a minority shareholder. Not quite the same as a ‘family business’ if that makes sense

More club nepotism and another wage on our bloated staff when we are skint.
