Absolutely correct. ANYONE is entitled to an opinion whether they attend or not. A sensitive FAB member will have a good sense of feeling and will be able to articulate the general sense of sentiment. Hopefully Northern Dreamer can do this. However, a person who posts on any forum and tells people to 'shut the **** up' does not inspire respect or confidence. Hopefully this example is a blip and its always good to see someone apologise for poor use of language. I've apologised myself when I've been a nob.
No because thats not true. This meeting was in the fan engagement plan sent to the EFL I saw at the begining of the season before a ball was kicked. (I was asked for a quote to include in it and was sent a draft at the time).
Correct me if im wrong, but aren't the members of FAB appointed to represent the fans, not to just expect everyone to come and represent themselves. So whoever represents this BBS should take the 'keyboard warrior' views and represent them, not shut down the comments. Otherwise we wouldn't need representatives we could just allow everyone to turn up at every event (limited of course only by the venue numbers). Maybe ive misunderstood, but I would be interested to hear what the formal responsibility is of the appointed members.
I thought it was a little bit awkward last time with Collins there. I don't think too many questions were aimed at him so I support the fact it would appear the head coach isn't involved. I do agree with Jay's idea about getting a curated set of questions from the fans asked in the first half to cover the essential topics up front and ensure they are covered with the right level of detail. We've seen the right questions being poorly asked in the past. Make the second half a free-for-all. We did this for one of the trust meetings with the owners and CEO and I think it worked well.
I was elected to represent the fans, and I do so to the best of my ability. That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed my own opinions though. I have never shut down anyone's comments, nor would I. My initial post was expressing my frustration with those supporters on here who complain at every opportunity but don't seem to show up and voice their opinions at events like a fans' forum, and I stand by that. I subsequently realised I could have made my point better, and apologised for my initial language, however my fundamental views remain the same.
Yeah but my question was what do the appointed members represent? I wasn't saying you don't have an opinion and in fact would hope you do. I am unclear if they (not just you) represent fans groups. How is this forum for example, as a fans group represented? Im genuinely interested in the process applied and how the fan groups evaluate if FAB reps are meeting expectations of the specific group. Not pointing fingers (But you did tell people to shut up with is actually shutting down comments - but lets let that go). I would hope there is a way to get the sentiment, and general feedback gathered up and I also hope it's not just an individual representing their views in isolation but is generally a fair representation.
The different areas represented and the people representing those areas are shown on the club website in the fans section in the Fan Advisory Board sub section. At least 4 of the FAB group are posters on here, the BBS. If you or any other poster on here wants any issue taken forward, you can email the FAB member through the link on the club site. You can also post comment / issues on here and they will be picked up and taken to the monthly meeting by the FAB/BBS posters aforementioned. For various reasons the FAB has lost some momentum since its inception. Hopefully those issues have been ironed out now and hopefully you'lll get to see more information from the group in future. I can 100% assure you that the people who give up their time to contribute to the group do so with a good heart and positive intent...on behalf of fans, not just themselves. If you, or anyone else wants to DM me on here I will do my best to try and help.
You do realise that not every fan can attend though? So it’s ok whinging at people whilst not understanding why it’s not possible right? I live 120 miles away - I’m sure there’s probably a few more just like me. So whilst I understand what you might be trying to say for some it’s just an impossible task.
Bang on, he's been in the role 5 minutes and already towing the BFC line and licking the club officials arses. I've had enough of JAQ, Neerav, James and Jeane. I want change and the only change I want is new owners.
That’s some jump in logic. It was a poor choice of words, borne out of frustration, that he has apologised for (repeatedly). How is that in anyway related to the nonsense you’ve just posted? Its just a lazy, ill thought out slur without any substance or evidence to back it up.
My original intention was to stir up some interest in the forthcoming fans' forum, and regenerate some passion about the current position of the club; I think I can safely say it worked.
one good thing to come out of this FAB is the accessibility passport for people with disabilities whether that be visible or invisible, all due to 1 member on here pushing for it Gorilla Gaz and the FAB board member Martin and also Gally for getting this moving, not seen whether the facilities have been sorted or being done yet but its a start i suppose
