You're pushing your luck there mate, looking for credit for a post that slagged off anyone with an opinion on BFC who can't, or can't be bothered to, turn up to a meeting on a specific day and time. The ones who are passionate are the ones who don't need slagging off. You may have noticed that there are hordes of people on here desperate to tell everyone about their lack of interest in BFC - how they have better things to do etc. Forget them and look to the ones who want inspiration and assurance. Like me.
I honestly don't think he meant anyone with a poor opinion of the club, or board more specifically. I think he means people (a couple already who has posted on here) who think anyone who doesn't agree with their particular outlook are club apologists or arse lickers... loads of fans accused the people who went of being cherry picked etc so I think thats where the frustration comes from.
Could you clarify? Who are the hordes of people? Why would anyone post on here who has no interest in BFC? I have expressed my concerns about the way things are going, but I certainly wouldn’t have bothered if I wasn’t interested.
Perhaps you haven't read the threads containing posts of those who think it's too expensive, or the kick offs don't suit them, or the squad is crap, or we're in a pub league, or the owners are bleeding the club, or the atmosphere is dead, or the facilities are pathetic etc...(I'm fed up with going on) Those are the hordes. There are more on here who post about anything but football, and then those that do post about how they don't even turn up on matchdays.
You're being disingenuous mate. I didn't say he or anyone couldn't think that - but calling people arselickers or club apologists for not sharing that view is wrong and I stand by that
Ok……is there going to be a zoom link for those of us who are far away and can’t attend? You can segment part for questions via video link. It is 2024 after all……
Turn up and have your say then. Instead of posting your constant complaints on here. I'm sure that's what they are referring to. You have a lot to moan about on here but nowt willl get done if you don't go through proper channels Nows ya chance to stop hiding behind ya keyboard, turn up in person and have your say He's not wrong. Anyone constantly moaning on social media but won't do it in person are keyboard warriors
Thats fair enough Frog, but I was referring to these comments that he posted (and that's why I clicked 'like' on it)... "I've had enough of JAQ, Neerav, James and Jeane. I want change, and the only change I want is new owners".
Yeah I have absolutely no issue with that bud. I completely understand the sentiment given the current situation. I just don't like the fact I'm called x,y & z just because I have different opinions. I don't think fans who ask different questions instead of the questions certain people want asking should be labeled as x,y,z either. My point was I think the OP was referring to the people who slate other fans for not asking the questions they want, hence why he 'encouraged' (trying to be polite ) them to go themselves, if you get my meaning
compley disagree too many folk think they can say what they want behind their keyboard/phone but won't turn up and do owt about it. He's not said owt wrong
I get that the Op has maybe gone fishing for a few bites here lol. And maybe he did have the best of intentions at first to try and drum up some interest, when starting the thread. He's clearly thrown a rock into the water, to see what ripples it causes!. No problem.
FFS he has the right to moan ( as he does incessantly but tbh interestingly and not maliciously) when and wherever he wants. This is a free spirit board (unless you criticize Whitey). Leave him alone to stay where he is and say what he wants.
Must admit, I was a bit miffed at the OP, not everyone who supports Barnsley, lives in Barnsley, and if you're 2 an half hours away on a good run, it's a bit difficult to make it for 6pm midweek. Doesn't make our opinion less valid or mean we're keyboard warriors, just means we've moved away but maintain our passion. Yours, An ex happy clapper, who is definitely becoming more curmudgeonly in me old age.
I make no apology for complaining about the way the Sky deal is causing my season ticket purchase to make absolutely no sense at all. If I had been told that fixtures would be changed in the way they have then I would have thought twice about continuing something I have done for the past 45 years. If people don’t want to hear it then that’s fine, but I know I’m not alone. There’s an old saying in business that once customers stop complaining that’s when you know you have a serious problem. Because once they stop they’ve most likely voted with their feet. Sadly, unless things change quickly, I fear that many will be doing so.
The fact is this...if u are a member of FAB means yr associated with the club and represent the fans...so any members need to think twice what they post more so than a fan. The OP was a poor choice of words and he should highlight his behaviour to the FAB as he has offended people he's supposed to represent
And for the thousandth time, he’s apologised. Several times. Absolutely no doubt some are using it to pile on now, for their own agendas.
And sometimes comments are made which are irreversible due to the position the person holds. Apologies can be accepted however it still can unfortunately put the club in a position to review that person's position
