Yep, must admit I thought Smith's demons were back bur fair play to him. This is shaping up to be a cracking final.
The 28 dart leg in the second leg I thought I was watching Lakeside. Dunno why the Premier League ten aren't getting announced today as it's quite straight forward who should go in. Van Gerwen, Price, Wright, Wade, Anderson, Smith, Clayton, Rydz, Cross and Van Den Bergh.
Anderson is talking about a year off, Rydz isn't ready for a weekly dogfight. So Cross will come in at number 9 then they're going to wait until after Q School to see if Fallon Sherrock gets a Tour Card then she can have the 10th spot. You heard it here first!
And if that is the case then it's just wrong. If she gets a tour card then she's in despite not winning a single competition and players who would be more deserving of the PL spot would miss out. You can see why the PDC are pushing her but the preferential treatment she gets just isn't right. Like Raymond Barneveld who use to get invited to the PL each year despite winning **** all for years before his 'retirement'. He kept promising to do the full tour and the lazy sod sacked it off.
Anderson has moaned for years I can't see him having time off. Rydz has done great and it needs a fresh young name instead of same old all the time. Even if she wins a tour card she would only be getting in because of her gender and should be nowhere near discussions. They like box ticking in Darts though having Laura Turner as a pundit when she's done naff all.
It should be the World Numbers 1 to 10 simple as that but Eddie Hearne has taken over from his dad and wants to put his mark on the game as soon as possible!
Also just a comment on Anderson. Can't stand the morngy sod. Heard several interviews where he's moaned at having to travel to Barnsley for the players championships. The guy can earn a lot of money these days and if the tour is that bad then he should pack it in all together.
I would agree with that. The top players are more dedicated. I've seen plenty of Darts players out in Barnsley on a Saturday night after a Players Championship but never the top players. That more dedicated bunch probably go straight back to their hotel instead of getting drunk listening to DJ Chris Kelly.
Yep, an absolute power scorer but he really struggles with the doubles. Until he sorts that out then he won't win many majors.
I knew chokerboy would cry. For all his 180s and obvious talent he's not got the stomach to win the big tournaments.
Congrats to Wright, it was a decent final but Smith just fell apart. From 5-4 up to lose 3 consecutive sets was poor. Smith seems a nice guy but until he sorts out his finishing then he's going to struggle to win a major final.
Smith is young enough to come back again but unfortunately he's bottled a few major finals now because his finishing is weak. I suspect it will take him a long time to get over this one. He just fell apart from 5-4 up.
he’s looked good on his doubles in some games. Tonight he just seemed to rush them. I know he plays fast but sometimes I think he just needs to take a breather before throwing
