Sounds great. I've actually not been since pre-lockdown so I reckon I've got an outdated memory of it. Not to say it wasn't great when I went - it was! Full respect to everyone involved in it, it's a brilliant addition. I'll make sure I pay a visit next time.
Rest assured it’s not a patch on the set up you guys have developed. My other half went down - said the “musician” was so bad that he didn’t even try to get to the bar. The astroturf they’ve chucked down looks like someone had a bit of left over carpet and thought “I know, I’ll use it in that corner”. The fanzone sign looks like it’s made out of balsa wood, it’s that flimsy. Can’t comment on the actual beer offerings but I doubt it’s as varied as Redfearns. It’s about half the size, with no cover/ shelter whatsoever.
Wasn't a comment on you mate. You weren't negative at all and completely fair. Just interesting how we nearly always give more credit to others than ourselves. FanZones are one example. But Reading doing £20 tickets was another. Scepticism on our own patch but adoration if done elsewhere.
Don’t think we’re in a position to be taking the pi$$ out of any other club tbh. We’re in a very big glass house right now.
@Loko the Tyke Sorry if mentioned; is the fanzone open tomorrow? From what time? Do you take cards? TIA
Nice one. Together with a bit of samba music and dancing AND a Brazilian womens beach volleyball. You can't beat a good Brazilian .... can you Stephen.
On the contrary. It’s brightened up my week knowing that our “massive” friends are finding a way to be more tin pot than us.
