Re: What happened? "Only been three times this season" Reight supporter your are Blunderbuss. Your match reports are invaluable
Re: What happened? This isn't a dig but if you've only been three times this season you can't possibly comment on how bad this season has been. I think under the circumstances the paying customer has every right to be negative and a little pi55ed off. To say yesterday was the first time we had any 'Johnson out' chants shows how patient our regular fans have been this season.
Re: What happened? Did you really? My mate said nothing like that so you must be referring to a different incident.
Re: What happened? My mate is ringing them tomorrow. Not to report it but to clear the air. Let's see what happens.
Re: What happened? if what you say did actually happen, i'd be all over it. CEO, owner and probably local media as well.
if I was manager he wouldn't be playing against Bury no matter what the provocation , just not acceptable for a player to react to fans at any time never mind after an abysmal display . He should be thankful he's still in the profession
I can see your point of view but I'm going on Boxing Day and without Hammill were well and truly ballaxed
Whether people were having a direct go at Hammill or the team it's not exactly a surprise he's reacted. Of course he shouldn't have, but to be honest some of the general abuse I see screamed at the players week in week out I bet there's not many on here who would take it. If every day I went to work some random people shouted at me telling me what a bad job I was doing I reckon I might react too. What's the betting that those who hang around to scream abuse at the players would be the first ones bairning if the players didn't come over at applaud after the game too.
I agree to an extent but football is a very different industry to where most fans work and abuse / banter from the terraces comes with the territory. That said I don't think fans can claim to be sensitive little flowers when they get some back. If you're happy to give it out then you need to be man enough to take it back.
Absolutely agree. If you believe that football is an environment where it is ok to verbally abuse the players then don't be surprised if it comes right back at you.
Re: What happened? Confirming what we already knew. The confession of the ultimate non-fan. Just continue to let the fans you look down on to continue funding the club for you to "support" from afar.
What part of of ' lucky to still be in the profession ' don't you and Hammill understand . In an interview last week he said he thought his misdemeanours had been over blown by the media , again what part of smacking a female paramedic isn't abhorrent . He should control himself , other people in other professions who face far more abuse week in week out , do , the paramedic he smacked for one
He sees an anger management counsellor so he's obviously aware of his issues. But I reckon if fans can dish it out, they should be able to take it back.
I agree to an extent depending on what is said on either side and the circumstances in which they're said. Eg if a player really hasn't been trying then he can't have any complaints if a fan tells him he's a lazy chuff but if he's getting slated for simply having a bad game whilst trying it's different. Obviously the level of abuse matters too. However when it comes down to it the players are employees and no matter what abuse a customer gives you you can't gonhurlong it back, you have to remain professional and walk away.
