Thing is, why would they claim more people were in the ground? Unless they wanted to prove that lowering the ticket prices, as they did for Walsall in the cup, does not improve attendances. Not that I'm suggesting for a minute thet they've done that or would ever do that.
me too 128 and watched the exits for what seemed like ages afterwards. One person came up out of them which by my count made 129 but of course it is easy to be one or two out. Maybe the directors get included in the figure?
Maybe there were some in the executive boxes With the health and safety rules nowadays I don't think for a minute that we'd give out the wrong attendance.
I think they are a bit odd though Nobody has yet given any sort of reasoning for the doncaster attendance two years in a row. Doncaster disagreed with Barnsley's figures so strongly that their official site and programme gives a much higher figure than what barnsley announced.
What's the chances that the person in charge of counting is simply thick? I'm not claiming that he or she is of course.
I remember the furore surrounding the Donny attendance I thought it was bang on. There were lots of empty seats. You put 3,500 in a stand that holds 6,000 and it can look full if they're spread out over the whole stand. I usually sit in the Ponty, but I've sat in the EastStand a few times this last couple of seasons. The area in the Ponty I usually sit in looks full from over there, but I know from experience it's never full. Not even half full.
RE: The attendance figures all season have been weird to say the least 3000 was all they brought, if that, they only filled half of it maximum!!
