RE: James I got to agree with you

I also think that KayO has a long way to go to prove that he is of Championship standard in spite of last night's performance. HOWEVER I can't see the slightest benefit of booing any one of our players, what can it possibly achieve ???

I dont boo Reds players

but I dont cheer the bad ones either.
I am not going to change my mind over KO or Davey just because of 1 win. We are at the wrong end of the league because that is where we deserve to be this season.

I have read that we need to clear out the dead wood at the end of the season, but I thought we did that last year, these players here now have been brought in by Davey andif thet are deadwood, is it safe to let him bring in more of the same?
He has signed some decent players, but a lot more have not been good enough.

Ey up Mark!

My opinion of KO differs from yours in just one tiny area.

I think, on the evidence so far, that he is not good enough for our level. He has had many chances to prove me wrong, and he has failed. He scored 2 last night and missed 2. I was not there so I cannot comment on his overall performance but based on the opinion of those who were there he seems to have done well.

However, I have this nagging feeling that there is something there. Not as a 25 goals a season man, but as a creator. Against Chelsea and Liverpool he unsettled so-called international quality defenders. Against Cardiff, he played quite well (my opinion) but missed THAT chance. If I had to decide today, I would agree with you, but....

The problem is, I have this tiny, minscule inkling, that .......... if he left us, he sould come good elsewhere, like J Walters, for example.

Still, like you, I do not boo Barnsley players regardless of how good or bad they are.

I can almost smell the curry while we discuss this further :D

No comparison this season to last

I say this & we're not even safe yet.

MUCH better side.
So many highlights of the season (unusually) - you'd struggle to pick one last year.

This year
Muller pen save V Preston
Late Coulson Winner v Blackpool
Liverpool
Chelsea
Wembley
last night

Don't forget the key players we've lost to injury.

Not saying Davey's a God, but I think he's done a good job, and if we stay up (which I think we will) we can kick on next year. Personally dubious re ODJ but whenever he's wearing Red of Barnsley, I'll be behind him.

Bloody lovely, buffet all you can eat and only £10 each, only downside was they are not licenced to sell alcoholic beverages, I know you wont be bothered about that like, with you being teetotal and everything

I resent that

Teetotal? Me? I suggest all further communications between us are routed through solicitors.

By the way I think KO is fantastic!

Seeriously that sounds like a nice place but a curry without a lager or two - I ask yer?

He's a striker and he is judged on goals and his return on this stat is not good enough this season and i agree with that but he is not completely useless. He showed danny shittu the massive guy at the back who the big guy is and knocked him completely off the ball, he also showed he has pace by catching both shittu and leigh bromby for the goals so he also has pace. He did show he has the potential to finish with a fine effort into the corner, but he needs to improve his finishing if he is to stay. I'm not up his arse as he is not good enough yet but i believe he has the ability to be a good player for us. Thanks for reading please dont mouth back people :) just advice or opinions

to the loser who made the original post, shut the **** up.

He brings a lot more to the team than the other strikers do, except Macken. He may not score, but the others don't. I bet you wern't there at Watford were you? And I doubt you'll be there at Preston. Get behind him and stop slagging him off, he'll come good.

RE: James I got to agree with you

You really are thick aren't you? Are you actually reading the replies to your post? Most people are agreeing with you that Kayode isn't good enough. FFS Davey has said that strikers are judged on goals and his goal ratio hasn't been good enough, so even the manager is agreeing with you to a certain extent. But booing one of your own players ... FFS how old are you? I would NEVER boo a Barnsley player so long as I could see he was giving 100%, and you cannot argue that Kayode doesn't give 100%. Whether he is good enough is a totally different argument, but booing him? SH*T on a stick, I really can't get my breath

We all know odejayi is not world class but he is our player so we need to get behind him and the rest of the lads. as real supporters do through thick and thin.

Right supporter you are ********.
If you enjoy booing players from your own team as opposed to a little encouragement then f*ck off and support someone else. Simple as.
Well, simple as you really.
Oh and, if you feel like you're banging your head against a brick wall, might I make a suggestion.
Bang as hard as you possibly can.

Personally I find that neagtivity towards one player such as Odejayi will not only have an effect on the individual, but also the whole team.

At times football fans underestimate how damaging booing etc can be to team morale. A lot of Albion fans got on Dean Kiely's back recently, and although I'm not a fan of his, the booing was out of order. Mowbray made himself perfectly clear when he urged our fans to get behind the team.

Basically what I'm saying is whinging gets you nowhere. Whoever Davey picks, get behind them 110%.

Behave yourself

We arethefans that boo'ed Michael Chopra when he scored for us.

The motivational books on sale in WH Smiths in Barnsley all mention telling someone that they are fcking **** is the best way to encourage them....

Too many boo boys at Oakwell these days

I know we haven't had a great season but this season more than most there have been a higher than average number of dickheads in the home crowd.

Do they really think that yelling things like "F*ck off Odejayi/Leon/Istvan, you're flipping w*nk" before the game is three minutes old and cheering every time our players make a mistake does anything apart from make them look stupid?

Sad to say that some of our fans are only happy when the team gets things wrong just so that they can be proved right.
