Maybe we should get a new algorithm supplier then because the one Cryne supplied doesn't appear to be very good.
But it was good when it highlighted Hourihane, Scowen, Watkins, Pinnock, Lindsay, Winnall, Roberts, Mawson .............. and the list goes on. Can't have it both ways.
Glad you're being as pleasant as ever. What have I said that's pious rubbish? Not sure there's a need to jump on my back for suggesting the Head Coach identified four of the Summer signings himself?
They’ve amended the settings of the Cryne plan. Signings prior to the take over might have had a lot of younger players in the first team but it had young players with games under the belt. Pearson, Potts,Lindsay, Mallon, yids, Bradshaw hourihane, Roberts,to name a few all had games under thier belts given their ages. This new plan just signs exciting kids straight from U23s
Well come on. I list a small number of players and you suggest I'm going to add another name to it. Tedious reply I thought with a massive dollop of insincerity/sarcasm for good measure.
Yes, it was sarcastic. Because against all empirical evidence you and a couple of other contrarians cling on to this bizarre notion that the head coach has anything more than the most cursory involvement in our transfer dealings.
You do come across as a bit pompous and self congratulating. Unless we have changed the model the HC has minimal input other than saying yeah or nay. We may have changed the model. You may know that for a fact.
How am I being contrarian just because I have a different view to the one you so firmly believe? We all know there's a 'spreadsheet', but I'm also led to believe that those four players were identified by Stendel. Why does that anger you? What's the empirical evidence that exists that proves me so wrong? I've no blind loyalty to defending the strategy by the way. Our biggest mistakes in the Summer were not replacing Moore and bringing in a defender or midfielder with 100+ Championship games under their belt. It isn't working right now, but neither are our predictable tactics that set us up to be so easy to play against when facing the better teams (Derby weren't one of the better teams).
I'd love to be pointed in the direction of the self congratulating comments considering how there's pretty much zero joy taken in any discussions on football these last two months.
We don’t have to be good at football for you to appear smug and conceited. I’m sure it’s just your writing style and you’re a nice bloke All your comments on this thread come across that way
Jesus. Going for the jugular here. Pompous, self congratulating, smug and conceited. I pointed out to you a couple of errors in your claims on League One stats. And replied to a sarcastic post with a sarcastic post. All I've actually done is suggest Stendel identified four signings himself.
I don’t know if you genuinely want this answered but there’s honestly something about your writing style that makes you come across as if you think you’re superior. It’s not that you have a different point of view; for all I know, you might be right, Stendel could have scouted all these players (and I think everyone agrees - they’re not *bad* players - except maybe Halme - it’s just the lack of balance between youth and experience), it’s just that your writing style means that you genuinely do come across as a bit patronising. And I know that’s a mildly offensive thing to write and probably pretty difficult to accept but try and take it in the spirit that it’s meant.
I'll have to be more aware on that then. I won't resort to making anything personal though* as that feels a step too far for a chat about who signs the players at a football club. *Disclaimer - I did that once a few weeks ago and quickly apologised
Don't think there's any other way that can be taken is there? It's a bit more than mildly offensive to be honest.
Yep all good players eventually but when you need players who hit the ground running which we did the last time we were relegated and did this close season it's bloody useless and they haven't learned that lesson they've made the same mistakes.
