I agree. It won't ever stop as its bred into them by their parents. Unfortunately for Celtic FC people like this choose to align themselves with the club so it's something that will never go away. Then again I say unfortunately for Celtic FC but it's only in the last few years they've tried to distance themselves from these issues. Sectarianism has made Rangers & Celtic big football clubs

You're right KC and sadly in this country you can't round them up and ship them off to Siberia. I wish you could.

Sport should bring Religions together, not oppose them.

I've never worked the Celtic / Rangers issue out......and to be honest, I ain't interested, when you have two sides who cannot even reach the edge of common ground (which you need, to reach any sort of solution).

I'd suggest a minutes applause instead but there will probably be more Celtic than Ross County fans there anyway.

You can't make someone respect a minutes silence, and I suspect that Celtic have taken the decision knowing that many of their fans would not respect it. Unfortunate, but that's the way it is, and given that they align themselves with Southern Ireland and given the atrocities committed by the British army in Ireland in 1920 I do actually have some understanding of where they are coming from. I don't agree with them but I actually understand their point.

Why close a thread and continue the debate here?

But what about the Catholics who have fought and died for this country, from both sides of the Irish border. You would think they could put their bigotry aside for just one minute in memory of these people if nobody else. If only they could see the bigger picture with regards to the message of remembrance they might realise just how odious they look to the rest of the country.

PS. I’m not challenging you or having a go, I’m just expanding on the point you made.

Really? I thought you'd have just gone for inciting football hooliganism by saying that he was glad to see fans getting a slap or whatever he said.

So you'd ban someone for as you say 'inciting football hooliganism' 'cos he said someone deserved a slap? Now forgive me if I am wrong but im sure a few on here said the same thing about the 'morons' who threw the lighters at mcphail and the smokes bombs the other week - were is their ban?

Ok. Just angers me that people want folk banning all the time on here. We should all be able to voice our own opinions, it is a Barnsley Fans Forum isn't it?
