Gary's always seemed a lovely fella. I really felt for him when the band broke up, but I think he makes the most of what he's got and doesn't seem to complain, so good on him. You can tell the reunion meant a lot to him, and interesting story about Meltdown and the NYD, didn't know that!!
Try see some of that Dolls footage, it doesn’t capture the absolute euphoria of those shows, they had to book a second night, I went to both. I’m going to regret sharing this. But I had bought 2 random tickets over the phone. Then, row in front of us was my friend Nina Antonia, who wrote all the books about Johnny , the Dolls Peter Perrett & Chrissy Hynde. She had managed us for a while in the 90s. She was with Glan Matlock, Patti Palladin & Bobby Gillespie. Lots of hugs & dancing when the Dolls came on. I knew Bob a little bit from Creation days, but I had never met a Sex Pistol.? & he’s a wonderful fella. Playing with Blondie, nowadays..
