Maybe he will officially sign in July when his current contract expires.
His initial contract was signed on 14-07-2004, not sure if it was a three year deal or a two year with one year extension.
hope this helps.

Official Site........... Get your heads from up your own arses.
You have no idea whatsoever what goes on behind the scenes at BFC.
Rob was on Paternity Leave on the run up to Cardiff. I don't know if that means anything to the people that don't have children, but the birth of a child overcomes everything else.
Also there has been a lot of speculation concerning signings and vacancies at Oakwell, but that's all it is, SPECULATION!
Whenever someting is FACT I am sure that it will appear on the OFFICIAL SITE within seconds.
Enjoy what has happened FFS, (does anyone remember Cardiff?) especially those of you who slagged off the Manager, Chairman, Booking Office and Board of Directors throughout the whole of last season.
If you are SO concerned about the running of the Official Site then please put your points forward through the correct channels and offer your services. I'm sure you could do a better job..............NOT!!!
COME ON YOU REDS............Premiership beckons!

Well said Andy And do you have that photo of our crew at Cardiff? Was it your lad who took it? I'd like a copy if poss on email as I don't have any of me at the game. Ta.
We could get a big thermomter Just like churches and hospitals which can be updated daily with ST sales.
RE: hmm just a guess like but what if in the month before cardiff Yes, i know THAT news was made public, it was onn the home page for days as nothing else was posted then. But surely we don't rely on ONE person to keep the web site going, even when we were in League 1. It looks so amateurish and unprofessional.
RE: hmm just a guess like but what if in the month before cardiff
Actually Rob is head of MEDIA and Press Relations. He is not just some YOP (anyone remeber them? I used to be one!) employed by the Club to just one job. Hell!, if it was as easy as that then even I would have my doubts but I do see what goes on behind the scenes and believe me, I wouldn't want Rob's job for all the tea in China.
Give him a call and ask to have a go for a week.
Then give us your opinions!

RE: hmm just a guess like but what if in the month before cardiff I wasn't getting at him personally, it was the issue of no updates on the web site and how poor it appears. Thats where this whole thread started.
It's best that season tickets sales are unknown for a while I think, as many things such as this can push up the price of a player we're after, 'cos the other club think we'll have more cash. As stated, it should be made public when over the '5,000' mark, and when it beats last year's figure.....
Rob Knowles Fan Club Member 001 Big up Mr Knowles Hey. Do they only have one person able to update the website. What a garbage excuse for not updating. What happens when any other person with responsibility goes on paternity leave - they make arrangements in their absense. So what your saying is not only is the official site garbage for updates, but the person in charge is inept in making future arrangements.
Now hold on there How was Rob to know Mrs Rob was going to have a baby? It probably happened at short notice leaving no time to plan alternative arrangements. Oh.
RE: Now hold on there Thats right it must have been a Stork that dropped the baby from the sky. Barnsley FC Official Site - famed for forward thinking.
in fairness Rob did tell the club that his wife was due to have a baby and it is really up to them to organise cover for his position.
If his employer fails to do this at a crucial time of the season (for the second time in 12 months) then that is their fault not his, he even put it in the programme that he was expecting to miss the end of the season or playoffs so the club had plenty of notice to sort out temporary cover.

i agree, it is But Rob taking time off is the clubs problem not his.
They are responsible for making sure that there is cover and if they sat down and thought about it the would realise how valuable that cover is yet for some reason they seem unable/unwilling to do so.

Is it down to the club? What do Premium TV do for their money? Fair enough it's probably not really Rob to blame here but, to misquote GlenGarry Glen Ross "They're running this web site like a bunch of ********." I for one don't even look at it anymore and when you consider that I rely on the web to get all my Reds information that's a fairly damning indictment.
Typical Maybe they should invest in some pigeons, so the can carry messages to each and every supporter. It would be quicker. Also the official site really pis**s me off when it says the media talk has been updated on 8/6/06, but the stories are from 30 may. Fraudulent advertising if yer ask me!!
Customer CHarter If we all brought up the garbage inept way the website is run, amybe they'll do sumthing about it. (lol) . I think i need my medication now.
Basically Premium TV provide the software etc but updating is down to the clubs.
For me, Barnsley should employ one person extra to work full time on the website alongside Rob which will not only give cover for holidays and sickness but would mean more time to update some of the areas of the site that are hardly changed and take advantage of the other areas of the site (downloads coming soon honest)
