RE: i want to know the result of the investigation oh nothing, i just heard on the grapevine that the match report (and previous reports) had been reported to the chairman and that he was going to investigate them.
Who is victimising him? Someone obviously has changed the report, and we assume that to be him. He's either done it on instruction or because of what Dirk did. My point about his honeymoon...like Dirk it's nowt against him as a person but I think he took the comments on here completely out of context then chose to pursue a personal vendetta against this board (his own fans) in the official programme. The problem was not him being away...the problem was that in his absence no-one was updating the official site in the week before the season kicked. V Poor. Not Rob's fault. He made it personal. Sneakers
RE: lets be really honest. no he didnt In that case, he should lose his job. When you're in company time, you cannot be outspoken, no matter what your personal opinion. He was not wrong to hold those opinions, just wrong to express them. Barnsley FC should take action against him.
of course he was whether rennie was good or bad an official club spokesperson cannot claim that he sent players off to get in the limelight and 'make sure everybody was talking about him'. he sent austin off because his linesman told him he raised a fist, purely and simply because the linesman said to.
That does not matter Journo the match report could easily have brought a charge of "bringing the game into disrepute"
Erm... How is it personal when it's aimed at some Barnsley fans as a whole who use the internet? You're right, he's perfectly entitled to holidays.
to be fair to rob i wouldnt like to see him lose his job i would just like him to be told he is in a fortunate position to be able to dictate the news and not to abuse that position by being selective. i would remind him that customers are as much his responsibility as they are the box office girls' and that he cannot pick and choose when to ignore them,
RE: That was what people's beef was.. How were his comments personal? Did he mention any names? No. Did he even mention this BBS by name? No.
Nobody or at least no serious posters said that he was not entitled to have his honeymoon whenever it suited him..it's none of our business. What pissed people off was in the week before the start of the season....the website was static...no news, no interviews NOWT He chose to have a go in the programme and has done things since that makes it seem to me that he has a vendetta against this board.
I think what Dirk has said is sensible I also would question the Doncaster report in its original form. I don't think it was professional and I don't think it showed the club in a good light. That is just my personal opinion on that article; it is not fact. I don't know Rob and I have no intentions of berating him on his personal life. Having said that I would and have questioned his work for BFC. I cannot for the life in me understand why he would come on here and appear to take great delight in correcting information that is wrong but then completely ignore perfectly reasonable questions directed towards him. In my mind that shows a total lack of professionalism and a complete lack of respect to the customers of the organisation he is working for. I realise he is now suffering the same treatment, but maybe if he'd been more approachable in the first place this would not have arisen. We're all supposed to be on the same side. It doesn't feel like that a lot of the time.
RE: Nobody Does he know everyone on here personally? No. I remember numerous people stating that he SHOULD NOT be on honeymoon at that time... how is he to know whether these people are the thick tw@ts who post on here, or people being serious? I know a lot of people were saying the club should have got cover for him, but many were not. I'm sure he was talking about the ones who definitely DID say he shouldn't be on his honeymoon.
RE: That was what people's beef was.. But we knew what he was talikng about. For a club employee to use the clubs own publication to attack it's own supporters is out of order imho... For the record Journo...I have NOT said that he was NOT entitled to his honeymoon whenever he wanted it. The sheer incompetence ignorance and lack of action of the football club who surely knew that an important person was going to be away should astound me. Somehow, it does not
RE: to be fair to rob i wouldnt like to see him lose his job Agreed. In my opinion, he should not use this board. He abused his position by writing unpleasant things about it in the public domain, and then hid away when awkward questions were asked. As the public face of Barnsley FC, he has undermined the club. He is an appalling journalist anyway. Journo Tyke would do a far better job despite his inexperience.
No it doesn't... But to be fair, he has work to do at the club, and isn't employed to answer questions on here... however, when someone posted that tickets were nearly sold out for Rotherham, he wished to inform us that this was incorrect. I don't see what he's done wrong there.
Okay.. I might be wrong I've got personal reasons for disliking the bloke anyway..although I've never met him. By the same token, if he can ackowledge people having a pop about his honeymoon, why can't he acknowledge people having a pop about his match report?
RE: That was what people's beef was.. Of course he knew what he was talking about, but only the comment was only aimed at the people who were making ridiculous comments on here, which is fair enough in my book. He did not name any people, or even the 'unofficial' site that these fans were off. I'm not saying that you were one of them, or indeed anyone else, but I know for a fact that quite a few people DID say that.
The attitude and tone of the news story on the official site was the problem Journo. If you can't see that then well..for what it matters you have dropped in my estimation It was very poor and could have been worded A LOT BETTER
