Culture and race are entirely different things. Multiculturalism hinders racial integration. There's nothing wrong with the culture we've already got thank you very much. Anyone, regardless of race, is welcome to stay as long as they're willing to integrate but if they don't want to they know where the airport is.
Unfortunately an unwillingness to integrate is integral to the muslim faith. In fact a lot of them apparently feel duty bound to change us to suit them. Sorry old **** but that's the way it is and if your twisted logic dictates that pointing it out somehow makes one a racist then there's not much can be done for you.
.

Before aiming that kind of criticism at anyone else..... ....you might like to click that little button up there on the right and change your view to threaded.
Multi-culturalism does not hinder integration... Multi-culturalism is the idea that various cultures can live side-by-side with some fundamental, common values and some, less fundamental, religious or cultural values. Most Muslims are quite comfortable with this situation (most I know, anyway) - a lot of Muslims I know are most keen to be regarded as British and not Muslim and fall over themselves to apologise for the acts of extremists. All depends on your concept of multi-culturalism I suppose - most people see the idea as something completely different to ghettoisation (spelling ?) which is what, I think, you're talking about... I'm an athiest from South Yorkshire - I get along fine with Muslims, Christians, Hindus etcetera due to a fundamentally similar value system...
Whereas........... .......calling someone an "un-educated imbesile" is?
(By the way it's uneducated and imbecile.)

RE: Whereas........... After he'd been told to "shut the **** up" - not exactly an educated argument, is it?
RE: Multi-culturalism does not hinder integration... "Multi-culturalism is the idea that various cultures can live side-by-side with some fundamental, common values and some, less fundamental, religious or cultural values." Yes it is and, cuddly as it is, it's at best naive and at worst, as history has proven, catastrophic.
As you say a lot of muslims are keen to be regarded as British. The question is, if we keep bending over backwards to accomodate this alien culture and religion, in the end what will the word British mean?
Ghettoisation is not what I was talking about and if you believe that Christians and muslims share a similar value system then you need to do a bit more research mate.

RE: I'd have put money on it. Oh we are all naive! Thanks for that, I'll try not to do it again, I might need you to put me right though as you have all the answers.
"in the end what will the word British mean?" Ah this question again. Well before it changes maybe you can tell us what it means now!
Because as has been shown time and again, it's something that cannot be quantified, it means different things to different people. p.s. I might just do that though.
RE: Culture and race are entirely different things. Not fair to tar everyone with the same brush Don. The muslims I work with have no problem with my bacon butties, send Christmas cards and come to the office party and Xmas lunch. They do disappear to pray 2 or 3 times a day so I THINK they're 'proper muslims'. But they're "integrated", they're valued by their colleagues because they work hard, and they're proud to be BRITISH.
Fair dos mate. I could have made myself clearer. The convert or kill message appears throughout the Quran but I know that this applies to the faith itself and not necessarily those who practice it. And I suppose it isn't "a lot" of them who find themselves duty bound to ram it down our throats.
