Yes there is.

It's the same with those daft bands you listen to that nobody else likes and that orrible stuff you drink because nobody else likes it and those daft American sports that only you and daft Americans like.

Of course....nobody else likes them, just me, yes thats right

Nice wind up - gets rather tedious though.

    No it doesn't.

There's nothing funnier than the same wind-up fifty times. I like asking how much things are in the pound shop and behaving like I think it's the first time anybody's done it.

You just pretend not to like wind ups because everybody else likes them.

RE: I agree regarding some of the "jokes" that get posted...

1 joke. Thats the problem today. Some of us can laugh at ourselves, others start to whinge.
Me I am 44, overweight, balding and if anyone wants to take the piss , so what! I have had the fat jokes, oldie jokes and the baldy jokes, if people cannot laugh at themselves , then they need to get a life.

RE: Fair dos mate. I could have made myself clearer.

    OK thanks for that.

I do share your concerns about those at the fringe, and there's nobody more concerned than this owd git by the erosion of traditional British values.

Trouble is, I do work with Joe Public muslims who are in danger of becoming marginalised because of the antics of those few - and I'm convinced it's only a small minority - who insist on pushing their fundamentalist views.

And, let's face it - there are plenty of religious bigots on the Anglo Saxon side of the family too!

RE: Multi-culturalism does not hinder integration...

If by "research" you mean read the Koran - I intend to but don't need to - just because a holy book / preacher / whoever the f*ck says something doesn't mean every adherent is going to be that way inclined. In the Bible it says something about not washing your hands before eating - how many Christians adhere to that? I reiterate my point about the Muslims I know not being vengeful, misongynistic etcetera.

Cuddly humanitarian stuff - fair point, so let me give you something a bit closer to home - "The workman is worthy of his hire". While ever we're requiring these people to work in our public sectors, fulfil the roles Whitey won't consider, contribute by paying taxes etcetera how they dress and worship is their business (within reason, granted). You want to talk about Britishness well what about decades of trade unionism and workers rights fought for in the past and now we're suggesting we create a class of second-class citizen who we're quite happy to have working for us but who toes the line or else?

Well said, it's about power and wealth and using whatever means

you have to gain and maintain that. Religion, of many faiths, was and is used to control many by a few, it's not the religions themselves, be it Christianity, Islam or whatever, there is enough contradiction in all of them to be able to twist it in any way you choose, it's people who are the problem. Whether it's the Mullah's in Pakistan or the bishops in Rome they use religion for their own ends and whilever people are arguing over what a particular religion means or how it threatens them it stops people from examining the fact that they are using it for their own ends and just plays into their hands.

There is a difference though; they don't blow themselves up.
