So, we'll throw all that out, pay Ritchie off (expense!) get in a new manager who by the sounds of your ideas will be untried (more expense), he'll want his own players (expense), so get rid of the others (expense) and then we still don't know if it will have done any good.

Danny was already part of the Viv Andersons management team, he knew the players, we knew him. Yes, he was untried as a manager, but the directors knew what he was like as an assistant manager. Big big difference.
