I thought you'd be more clever than that, and I'm sure you are... I know you've got kids and everything (well, if I remember correctly) so maybe that's why you take this all so personally.

More to the point, lets investigate & sort out why these things happen in the first place.

As a parent myself I totally sympathise with someone's gut reaction to want to end this person's life. BUT, I couldn't torture someone or kill them so I don't think it's right that the state do it either.

I also know what a lot of kids go through growing up & what some of them then become. That is what needs adressing imo.

I refer the honorable gentleman to my previous thread in which I point out that it is the self-proclaimed liberals who are in fact those most guilty of intellectual fascism.

I agree that 12 years is too little, but some of that will be down to the fact that he confessed & presumably showed remorse.

It's not a gut reaction for me mate. It's the result of hours of conversation with my sister whose job it is to asses these people. I'm well settled in my mind where I stand on this as are those who are resigned to the fact that they can only work within the perameters of the system and sadly know they are allowing people to re-enter society who will reoffend.
