You'd think a relegation clause would cover relegation from any league - could have specifically said Premier League but I doubt it as they wouldn't have imagined getting relegated from the Championship. Their ground is gonna look daft for years now as well, can't see them bothering to finish the redevelopment any time soon.
I know nowt about any player's contract at any club, but I would be surprised if any Wolves player has a clause in their contract stating that their wages will be reduced should the club be relegated to league one, simply because when they signed their contracts no one at Wolves, be that manager, chairman or board member, would have considered relegation to league one as even a remote possibility.
Got to agree Jay. Even at the start of this season it wouldn't have been on their mind so it wouldn't have been for players signed in PL. I reckon they would have had a significant drop when relegated from PL but not this time.
If QPR signed those players in January while in the relegation spots without such a clause in their contact then the people responsible deserve the sack. They will probably sell Samba on, and perhaps even make a profit, but Remy is facing a rape allegation and might spend the next few years inside. Nobody is going to buy him and QPR cannot afford to keep him on those wages. Injuries could have happened to either player before the end of the season, so not having any kind of relegation clause leaves them open to some serious financial problems with the serious probability of a major drop in income within 3-4 months. Then again, Redknapp was involved so it might depend on his take...
Harry wasn't apparently involved in any negotiations. The owner of QPR and the manager have said he didn't find out until the day he signed that samba had signed for them. The owner apparently asked him who he would like and harry said Samba, Harry didn't expect the owner to get Samba but somehow he did.
Phil, you've been wrong in past but never admited it, but when people who post on here are wrong ya first one to have ago.Just grow up.
I'm led to believe that most clubs have 'relegation' clauses in player contracts. So I merely assumed Wolves would have had them. But I do talk 100% ***** so it's unsurprising really that I'm wrong.
just because there chairman has said there is no clauses in there contract ............ does that mean hes telling the truth? didn't rowing say we had no players with clauses and then next thing we flogged I think vaz te
