Not anymore there aint, 1.2 million bregretters = at 2.4 mill swing. Now the truth is out and the rats have baled...
How did he use it positively? We're the turkeys getting presents for Christmas while we all are lamb?
I'm actually shocked there are only 1.2 million who couldn't work out it was all lies in the first place!
Don't you understand the point he was making about Turkeys voting for Xmas. As for the promise, it was Boris who used that slogan on his campaign bus. Farage wasn't in the government, he wasn't part of the official leave campaign and had no power to make any promises on government spending post Brexit.
So obviously at any stage Farage couldn't have stood up and said, you know what fellas, it's not quite as true as it could be.....
Because the point he was making was that UKIP were effectively voting themselves out of a job by putting principle. Like I said the comment has to be taken in the context it was given.
For a minute there, it looked like you were supporting Farage. I thought everyone, no matter where they stand regarding Brexit, dislikes Farage.
I haven't got a link but he said that when we leave EU then Ukippers will be like turkeys voting for christmas
I'm sure he could but both sides were quoting ****** during the campaign it's just that the apocalyptical forecasts from remain seem to have been conveniently forgotten. Politician tells a half truth to benefit their campaign - who'd have thought it.
It's my considered opinion thst it's you thst doesn't understand what turkeys voting for Christmas means I presume that you voted for investment in the Thames Valley rather than the dearne Valley
I don't see Farage as the Devil incarnate but I'm not trying do defend him; i'm just trying to introduce a bit of balance and perspective into proceedings.
You have a considered opinion? That is not demonstrated by anything you say. When it's possible to understand what you're actually trying to say it's usually a load of uniformed, malevolent ******.
Of course all politicians spin the story as they see fit. I can't for the life of me believe how many fell for the leave campaigns blatant lies however. No scaremongering, no suppositions as to what might happen. Blatant lies. It seemed many voted because they'd set their minds early. Immigration fear played a massive part in that.
I understand exactly what the idiom means but I also understand that it can be used in a way that illustrates a point in a way that isn't an insult. Farage is paying respect to those who voted for something that was not in their best interests. And at this point I give up and I'm out.
I'd wager that as many fell for the spin from the leave campaign as fell for project fear from the remain campaign.
