They're generally on a 4-for-3 offer in Asda (other supermarkets are available) that often makes them cheaper than buying the same wine by the whole bottle! Choice is more limited but there's a quite palatable Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and the Campo Viejo Rioja, which tend to be my staples. Edit: Lidl and M&S also do third-bottles, i.e. 250ml so 2 regular servings.
I've seen them an considered , but it's a great way of reducing alcohol intake on a school night. It's the Tuesday the worst watching the reds . Turns me to drink.
Would you tell me to lose weight as an alternative to taking the injections first. As yours was a choice due to your health. I need to kerb the weight gain ,it's starting to effect my health.
Personally I would always reccomend traditional methods, healthier eating and exercise etc. Like all diets/fads if you stop taking them you will put weight back on.
If I can offer any advice Andy. Even though I've lapsed since covid. I lost over 3 stone with exercise and a low carb diet, Within months. Low calorie was a disaster. always hungry and put weight on, I think the medication they put me on at the time was having an adverse effect. Low carb. I eat loads of meat and other Low carb foodstuffs. Just need to get back exercising, once I get shut of a back issue. If you like a beer. (I generally just drink socially) a brand called Skinny (B and Ms and some other outlets) is very low in carbs. I like it and it is worth a try. Ask about the course at your clinic. Mine was over 4/5 weeks. 1 day a week, 2hr sessions. Very informative, dealing with various diets. Si thi at match tomorrow I assume lol. Don't offer me a bun. I do tend to lapse Bread and sweetstuff my biggest enemy. I'm on libra Monitoring it certainly helps rather than blood monitoring.
Trying to reverse too many years of sedentary lifestyle, remote working and plenty of enjoyment ie a beer and snacks myself. Booked to go to Nashville & Memphis at the end of May and really needed to do something. So keeping a better eye on eating habits, cutting out takeaways and late night snacks. Refrained from alcohol for the first 2 months and trying to up my steps. Now back having a drink but maintaining a steady loss. Down just over 2 stone in 2025, want another 2 stone gone before our trip last week in May
I haven't looked into those Jabs that much don't they suppress you apatite and also alter insulin levels causing weight loss?
I believe they're mainly an appetite suppressant, but not only. Will ask my mate who's a GP when I see him next week - he recommends the jab.
Slapped on some timber convalescing from an injury for most of last year. Stopped boozing on 2nd Jan and changed the old diet, and started power walking up hillsides etc. At present I've shed 18 lbs and just need to shift another 8lbs then I'm hitting the gym. Started feeling much healthier mentally and physically.

Look after yasens.
All great advice. IF definitely works. Love the last one. Amazes me how many people at work take the lift. Such an easy win to get the heart rate going in the morning! Works out about 2500 flights of stairs a year
I’ll be honest. When I stopped being a regular drinker last year I expected to lose a bit of weight. It hasn’t happened. Because I now eat more than I ever have. But that was more about my mental health anyway. I exercise every other day, minimum. Usually a few weights, or a good walk. I can’t jog or run as I have Achilles tendinitis which flares up if I do. Walking is fine. And that also helps with my mental health. I’ve never not felt better after exercise. I do appreciate for some it’s getting over the first hurdle of trying. But yeah, once you get into it, you’ll feel cracking and the results are pretty obvious.
A lot of the advice on here is completely salient and relevant to most but not all. I am that not all. After my paralysis and subsequent respiratory failure going for a walk isn’t an option. I have a manual chair which I push myself in and get funny looks at the big (fat) guy wheeling himself about without using a power chair, I do this to get some exercise in and not become completely sedentary. This combined with the weight loss jabs which I started in January have culminated in me losing just over 3st. The biggest things they’ve done for me are: Dramatically reduced portion size I don’t feel like I want to eat rubbish Cut out food ‘noise’. I basically now eat because I have to rather than want to. I don’t even think about food unless it’s in front of me. I mean they aren’t magic and will be working because my calorie intake is massively reduced but they seem to help. I’ve also had no adverse effects. Probably a good thing as the Brad Pitts aren’t much fun in a wheelchair.
