You look through everyone's selection and we have had some fine players. Unfortunately not enough of them at the same time other than 3 or 4 occasions.
Flipping Readers!!! It should have said Redders (of course). Also on the list is David Geddes, Hirst and Cooper.
Alan Little, Ally Millar, Mick McCarthy, Paul Futcher, Clive Baker, Brendan o'Connell, David Currie, Owen Archdeacon Gary Fleming, Nicky Eaden, Dave Watson. Of the current lot Scowen. The saddest think about the Hillcroft years and the turnover of players was that I went through about 3 seasons of not having A favourite player.
I loved Steve Cooper. Hard as nails and never gave up. Nowhere near the best footballer to pull on a Reds shirt but his attitude alone made him a legend. He obviously had a issue with Port Vale as I remember him kicking Dean Glover up in the air right in front of the Ref. he was down the tunnel before the ref had time to show him the red. Gerry Taggart & Gwyn Thomas was made of the same stuff. Propper footballers
