We have had some great players in the 30 years I've been watching Barnsley but in my opinion only two true legends - Ronnie Glavin and Neil Redfearn.
Mick 'Macca' McCarthy. I'm sure i remember him playing with a sponge tucked in his shorts to mop the blood from a head wound one time, till he could get it stiched at half time.
Redfern for me. Too young to see Glavin play, though I've not seen any video footage to change my view either.
For varying reasons : Brian Joicey.
Ronnie Glavin.
Ian Banks.
Neil Redfearn.
Arjan DeZeeuw.

Can't make my mind up McCarthy was my hero when I was a kid. Glavin was simply sensational, but later so was Hignett. Redfearn had everything. But so did Banks in our first spell with us. Ward was the best striker I've seen play for Barnsley. So one of those I suppose. And that's without mentioning Taggart, Hendrie, Stuart Gray, Aylott etc etc
