What a load of ******. Biggest club in the world? Were they heck. He made them into the biggest club in the world. They had won nothing of any great note until he came to the club - a couple of FA Cups but hadn't won the league, or the European Cup (Champions League) in decades. They had very little money, relatively speaking - and they became able to spend more on transfers and wages with their self-generated commercial success that was largely down to him.

And as we know, money doesn't guarantee you success. Just look at City, Liverpool and Chelski. Relative to the amounts poured into those clubs they have won bugger all.

Maybe I have "risen" too much to your comments as we all know you can be a WUM. But if you wrote that in all seriousness you need your head examining. IMO.

The greatest manager ever without a doubt in my opinion. He's built squad after squad to continually challenge and often win countless trophies. You only have to listen to the majority of ex Man Utd players that still call him gaffer or boss to realise the respect he has through the game.

As for the moaning. I put it down to being fiercely competitive. If the national team players cared as much and showed as much fight and will to win we might have had another major trophy win by now.

Nudger doesn't know much about football, unfortunately - led like a sheep into that puerile 'anyone but United' mentality.

Wrong IMO. He may not be boy scout, far from it, but what he is is the most successful manager in history.

A flawed character for sure, but you find me a perfect human and I'll show you Jesus. Sounds like he had a lot of time for up and coming managers, did things the right way behind the scenes so give the man a break.

Fist sentence would agree with 100% agree if you changed successful for great. All these people talking about his great personality and dignity, do me a favour! But his record will never be surpassed due, partly due to his fortress mentality built from day 1.

For me personally "anyone but united" has always been about Fergie's horrible personality
(the exception being when they've got to the later rounds in Europe (I'd rather an English team wins above any others in the end)).

sorry you lost me there, since when has knowing somebody personally had a bearing on whether you like them or not? Theres a lot of people couldn't stand Thatcher either but I don't think they have ever been introduced.

Being a football manager is only a popularity contest at the club you are at.

Ask 99% of Man Ure fans & they will say he is the greatest manager ever.

What the **** does it matter what fans of other clubs think, there would be summat wrong if Liverpool & Leeds fans were singing his praises.

Flicker seems to be doing alright after receiving his advice!

Im sure he offers advice to countless other young managers trying to make their way in the game too.
