Yes, out of all that I think the thing we'll all take away from it is that I wrote wasn't instead of weren't. Nobody will remember your absurd claim that Don Rowing is some kind of charity worker who is pumping millions into the club
Mr Cryne is the organ grinder Mr Rowing is the monkey Mr Taylor is the organ Not in a literal sense you understand, only figuratively speaking
Exactly. Monkey read scapegoat/gofer/deliverer of unsavoury news. But still gets too much sh*t in my book. A board of directors make decisions, not one man.
Don has referred to himself and Barry Taylor as "the board" on a few occasions so I suspect he is very much in a position to make decisions.
This is a worrying development. Pat seems to be shafting Baz up the wrong un, whilst Don is begging for money with his "begging tankard". Mark Stokes should really look at what he puts on Twitter.
Mark seems a little perplexed by the rather odd carrying ons of the board. And Pat seems to have adopted the "extra leg" made famous by Jake The Peg. Worrying times indeed.
The majority of board members throughout the history of Barnsley football club have neither had specific duties nor invested capital. That's not what they're there for. Although quite a number have lent money and acted as security on loans when the club has been in trouble. They approve budgets, vote on managerial appointments, approve managerial salaries and set objectives. Club secretaries, general managers, managing directors or whatever title you would like to give them do the work. The board are there to approve what they do. It's not a paid position and does not have any specific tasks above and beyond what is mentioned above. Don Rowing is paid as a general manager. He is not paid for his position on the board. Barry Taylor is not paid for his position on the board.
So, we could if we wanted, sit a chimpanzee on the board and expect similar results? We need a chimp. I'd pay an extra fiver to sit next to a directors box with a chimp in it. In a tarn shirt obviously, and one of them funny hats.
He's paid a salary for the job he does as general manager, not for sitting on the board. His job title is a bit meaningless, he could be called owt.
Not really, no. The board of directors works pretty much the same way in any company in the world. We've just got fewer members than most.
