I've just had £20 on Eubank/Chisora Not entirely convinced this is the most sensible bet, but that's what I've gone for. Eubank - just based on potential power in the later rounds. There's something unknown about him and he could come good tonight. I've seen Saunders live and he's one hell of a technical boxer, but I just sense he might be too emotional for this. Eubank won a Golden Gloves title in his 9th fight, and his Dad put him in with a heavyweight years ago to try and discourage him from boxing but he refused to back down. Chisora - purely on ring rust. Fury has a poor CV, but undoubtably has talent. I'm just unsure you can face an active and in shape Chisora off the back of two years out of the ring. A fight between two relatively poor heavyweights in reality, but in today's era two potential contenders. Should be a great scrap and swing both ways like the last fight.
Eubanks to win on points or late stoppage and chisora to win by ko, for some reason I'm seeing a joe Frazier style uppercut putting the gypsy on his arse
Gavin on pts. Eubank late stoppage. Tough fight though and tough to call. Fury on pts. The cash converter girls on darts are well fit. As are the ring girls.
Don't think fury could have done much more tbh. Chisora just wasn't at the races, he was a punchbag. Takes 2 to make a fight.
Of course it takes two to make a fight. Neither of them came to the party though. Really don't know what was wrong with Chisora - think he had a bet with Cleverley about who could throw the least right hands in a fight. Tyson showed the skills we knew he had, but nothing new. If Klitschko had performed like that he'd be slaughtered for it.
Anyone who counts themselves as a well clued up boxing fan would accept/agree that Tyson just schooled the **** out of Chisora. It's about time people gave the big man a bit of credit. As Curtis Woodhouse just said on twitter, folk can boo all they want but Tyson just delivered a masterclass. Loko had Chisora to win. And Eubank. I'm getting bored of him being wrong and me being 100% right. Night, chaps. #TeamFury
Tyson could have knocked him out at any stage. But needed the rounds, and showed maturity. I feel for Dereck. Proper bashed up without making a mark on his opponent.
The minute you start paying attention to Curtis Woodhouse's Twitter is the minute you get sectioned. I had a bet on Chisora and Eubank, but said it was a stupid bet from the start. Was chasing the odds more than anything (both odds against, so just took a punt). Best win of Fury's career to date. Never in trouble. Solid skills again. However, where was the killer instinct? Could have made a statement tonight as Chisora was there on a plate.
Agreed solid performance but dull as ditch water, low risk, comfortable win. Not a million miles away from the type of performance we've seen from those Ukrainian robots. He used his physical advantages.
I couldn't help thinking in those first four or five rounds that alongside some great technical stuff with the jab and good hand speed and soft combinations(not taking anything away from Fury there. Definitely his best win to date), there was a clinch and lean element to Fury's game which Klitschko gets crucified for. To then completely contradict myself, at least 25% of the jabs thrown in the last six rounds were illegal and with the back of his hand. Can't find a quote from Chisora anywhere, but he was awful. Career over or will be be fed to upcoming heavyweights as a solid journeyman from here on in.
If he can get away with holding and leaning on shorter opponents then he will continue to use it to his advantage (and so he should). As stated Klitschko has done this for years and it's one of the things that makes him (a) hard to beat and (b) hard to watch. It's also one of the reasons he fights in Germany where he can get away with it. Not sure Vegas/Atlantic City referees will let you get away with that. Best I've seen Fury box, but wouldn't make me want to shell out for pay per view when he gets a title shot.
Absolutely. The younger Klitschko has set the standard so if you're above 6ft 6 then why shouldn't you do the same? Maybe Price should have taken that in to account when fighting Tony Thompson. He doesn't look any better or worse than Jennings, Pulev, Povetkin. Who are all levels below Klitschko, so I wouldn't fork out for it either (but then I would the night before like I always do!)
The fact that Dereck Chisora is considered good enough for a world title eliminator, speaks volumes about just how bad the division is. I still reckon Fury is $hit - just so happens Chisora is even more $hit. Watching fights like this, must make the likes of Lennox Lewis want to put his gloves back on..
