I reckon the sky deal means that season ticket sales will fall off a cliff anyway now that people have got a handle on what it actually means in terms of changed kick off times etc.

It would be particularly unfair to blame the head coach for that next season. We've got no idea what the new baseline for STs will be, but surely it'll end up a good few thousand fewer.

Only criticism I have of Clarke is his substitutions usually cause more chaos than improvement. That aside he has a worse squad than out of the 3 since we’ve come down and I’d argue the league is harder this year too. Add into the mix injuries and some bad luck here and there.

he’s not the problem and as a few have said we need to keep a manager in place long term and try to build something.

Not so much Jalo. We rarely see him anyway.

There’s no denying that this is bad. We’re already on a winless run, we’ve become a poor home team, and fans are watching games on their settees. The whole season to date has been underwhelming.

That said, we knew we needed new faces in January, and it’s not far away. Could be that Shepherd is recalled and we get a loanee as well.

If the home form continues as it is Clarke will be in trouble.

Well in that interview I'm sure Neerav said they were confident the team was good enough for a top 6 finish, so I suspect anything less and its the chop chop.

I didn't realise we'd even measured him up. Ridiculous, imho, to suggest we're one nail away from sealing down the lid.

To blame Clarke for the current predicament seems a little harsh to me.

Performances of late have certainly improved, the inability to convert chances is hardly his fault but more rests with the players at his disposal. To continue to blame managers whilst the club has a bloated and unbalanced squad seems to miss where the problems lie.

Hopefully the board can show some patience and learn lessons from their mistakes. It’s going to take time to address the squad issues as it’s not easy to move players on but this needs to be done to move the club forward and improve the finances.

I do, however, believe there will be some final nails in the not too distant future. But for clubs, not managers.

The Sky deal for League 1 and 2 is having a massively negative affect on attendances. It's masked due to the way attendances are reported (ticket sales rather than attendees) but it will translate to season ticket sales and many clubs will be broke. I would imagine we're in the danger zone.

What I don’t get is why the injury update when all we’ve had for 2 seasons is radio silence

2 league wins all season at home for a side supposedly aiming for the play offs that is poor.

At some point something has to give so I agree. The need for clubs to be funded properly is paramount but many aren't, many are owned by dodgy owners, many are cheating. House of cards except for a few. Like society in general really.

I don’t agree it’s because of the Sky deal, before the Sky deal league 1 and 2 fans could still watch through other means, iFollow, dodgy stick for example. IFollow gives the club income as does Sky tv. Dodgy sticks don’t, only asking but how do watch the reds?.....do you go or if not which of the above do you access to watch mate.

I see your point but the sky deal is yet another erosive hit. There were dodgy sticks before sky as you say but sky compounds things and makes it easier for all those who don't want a dodgy stick to stop directly supporting their club. It reduces income while purporting to be supportive. It alienates season ticket holders by altering ko times. Its a false positive.

    Here we go again...
There's no running hot water, the bins haven't been emptied, the pitch grass is a bit too short/long, there's no corner parts of the stadium, and Sheff Wensdy are scum bags apparently!.
So it's all Daz Clarke's fault innit, obviously, so let's sack him pronto, and bung him in the taarn stocks!.

ifollow games weren't moved. They were on Saturday's at 3pm. Sky are moving matches. There are hardly any games on a Saturday at 3pm anymore. People bought season tickets thinking most games would be a Saturday at 3pm. The games have changed times, people can't go, they won't buy another season ticket.

If we bin off Clarke, who are we likely to attract? Anyone half decent we approached would run a mile, in the knowledge they could well get less than a season to sort the team out.
On a shoestring, hiding to nothing, with players foisted on them by folk who'd be better employed trying to improve the retail & catering arm of the club, rather than spotting the tools with which to get us promoted.
We don't even pay the wedge to make it worth the poisoned chalice.
    Grim.
