Entirely agree. Someone on a low income can easily drown in debt if they are not careful. I suppose financial institutions are a bit more responsible about it these days but it's still possible to get into trouble. I'm lucky that I have never been in that situation.
I was talking to an experienced taxi driver recently, he said his last two vehicles have been low mileage Skoda Octavia's...around the 10K mark ,he swore by them .

I seem to remember reading an article online somewhere that there are quite a few companies who will pay you a pot of money if you have their company advertising on the car paintwork.. If you could get a good deal maybe soften the initial outlay? Failing that stick 140 quid on Norwich, Blackpool and Rochdale to keep a clean sheet this weekend.. 100/1 @ Skybet...
