But Sheff Utd have signed Marc McNulty, who was second to Hemmings for POTY in that division. Their fans are excited about him. They've had Flynn and Scougall from up there recently and know there's talent to be had. League One isn't that good, pal. You want proven L1 players? Yet you couldn't stick Dawson......
What would the reaction have been had we signed Lee Gregory? But yet we've been pipped to his signing by Millwall.
Proven scorers at this level. Few and far between. I'd rather invest in potential and in the future than trawl out the tired players we could afford. I can only think of Clayton Donaldson of the players at the top end of League 1 forwards who would interest me. The rest are pretty meh. We currently have he best striker in League 1 in COG. So your saying players signed from this level are automatically ***** then without even seeing them play and no one ever signed from this level has ever been any good?
We should have kept Dagnall. League One was always his level. Poor forward planning by BFC. It's almost like someone thought we might stay up!
Dagnall isn't a proven scorer even in League 1. League 2 aye but his goalscoring record is average in League 1. Couldn't get a start for Orient. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
What's Dawson got to do with anything? Surely you must agree that players with League One experience are generally going to be more suitable than players from a part-time league in Scotland?
Isnt Dawson a experienced L1 player? Spent a few years at Orient and was captain. You say we want experienced L1 players and Dawson is one.
So because I don't rate Dawson that somehow means that players from the Scottish second tier are a better option? You'd think all the teams in England would be going mad for players from Dumbarton and Arbroath.
Part time League? The one with Dundee, Hibs, Hearts and Rangers in it? Look mate, you're not happy with this possible signing, fair enough. I don't agree regards suitable players, suitable divisions or whatever. I don't care where we recruit from. What matters to me is how they play as a team under our manager. Only then, after a decent length of time will I judge their ability or lack of. But I won't be saying they're **** 'because' they came from 'X' club or 'X' division. That'd be stupid. Most of who I'd deem the better laikers in my time as a supporter came from within our academy, from Scottish or random foreign clubs, or none league. Off to bed nar. Last shift tomorrow before two days off. Have a good un, pal.
Dundee not in it? Still, I've made my point. I dunno what yours is unless it's that you'd prefer gash like Dawson, Frimpong, Shea, Fox etc over any player from the Scottish second tier.
Why not watch the lad play before making your mind up. Just a suggestion like. We've signed a forward who scored 18 goals last season how can we not be happy about that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Well obviously our scouting team and Wilson think these players from Dumbarton and Arbroath are good enough. Why not give them a chance? Winds me up when people say "were signing a player from blah blah in L2(or unibond) who I've never heard off, he'll be *****" I judge a player when he puts the Barnsley shirt on, dont give a crap whether he's from Barcelona or Stalybridge Celtic.
Prime example; martin bullock, and he really did turn out crap didnt he? Oh, sorry, no he was mint, lets hope all our summer signings turn out half as decent as martin did.
Francisco Pirri - previous clubs include Atletico Madrid, Diego Leon - previous clubs include Real Madrid Darren Sheridan - signed from non-league, Martin Bullock signed from non-league. Which two were the better players?
