I never said at any point we will definitely sign Isgrove. I said I think we will.

As for Hammill being forced upon LJ that is ********.

LJ was desperate to break the policy in order to get some better quality players in. He wanted Hammill. He tried signing Kevin Nolan too.

The board weren't interested in Hammill before his trial due to 'lifestyle problems'.

The board were also very skeptical about resigning Hammill this season due to his age and that he had failed in the Championship before.

It is the board who are firm on the recruitment policy framework not the head coach. Im glad the policy is in place but it is probably frustrating for the Head Coach to work under at times too.

HT is a crank.some folk really don't know how good we've got it. Wonder if he watched us when Parkin was in charge, or Spackman. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

Same here got 0-0 wrote all over it or 1-0 to them can't see were goals are going to come from. Think we might just escape this year but will need a good summer for me to renew.

I choose to believe my source on Hammill not yours as they are generally more accurate..

So Isgrove's not signing then...shucks and you're so ITK

Why dont you bump my thread on Lloyd Isgrove seen as you seem intent on letting everyone know I said I think we were going to sign him.

Given that Mr Cryne said that Danny wanted to sign Conor so much he drove him to the airport where Patrick was so they could both convince him that Oakwell was the place to be and that Danny was scouting Winnall while at Sheffield United (as told to me by the scout sent out to watch him).

I think Red Army Chris has an incredible hate for Danny Wilson that clouds his judgement.

Basically any signings under Wilson that do well weren't his choice & any that did badly were his choice.

This is despite comments from Cryne that Wilson rated Hourihane & the person above stating that Winnall was watched by him previously.

He also stated on here that Wilson never saw Scowen play before he signed for us but I know he watched Wycombe play when they had both Scowen & Mawson in their team.

Wilson has always done a lot of scouting whether in work or out of it.

Unbelievable!!! What a difference a year makes...

As I said on a previous thread... managed to make a rare visit to t'Well to see the Wolves game. In spite of the result and the fact that , according to some of the moaners behind me' we were " rubbish" I enjoyed the game. This was because the last match I could attend was the Hartlepool 0-2 defeat last season before the turnaround in performances and results. That night we were diabolical. This time we were a competely different proposition in both skill levels and commitment. Apart from the poor defending of the set pieces leading to two of the goals and diabolical refereeing decisions denying us at least one clear penalty we were far the better team in open play-

It is easier to see how far we have come with such a long gap between viewing (like seeing how someone has changed when you haven't seen the for years as opposed to someone you see every day).

I have been amazed at some on here who have gone all 'Billy Bol*ox' and expect us to roll every side over and moan when we don't. The only thing I did not like apart from the result on the night were the 'experts' one row behind me East stand Upper who kept criticsing every time a Barnsley player lost the ball or misplaced a pass even when under pressure. I lost count of the time the word "rubbish" was uttered

I know people pay money so are entitled to their opinion but every player was putting in the effort and up against a team that cost far more to assemble than our entire squad. In spite of that we looked the better side for much of the game. We lose two (albeit one was captain and playmaker) and the sky has fallen in in spite of signing two potentially like for like replacements. Some are writing them off before they have had a chance. FFS

    Rant over! UREDS!!!!
    nwards and upwards

Wilson wanted to bring in experience and not young players who were unproven at league one level he has even said in interviews after. He wasn't a fan of the transfer policy in recruiting young players.
People slate Johnson yeah Johnson is a poor manager but Wilson is useless and his football was mind numbing. He was still getting jobs off the back of a promotion that happened 20 years ago up until last month the guys had more relegations than promotions.

It was conor who was at the airport about to go on holiday not patrick. Patrick arranged for him.and Wilson to meet him before he flew to sell him what we were trying to do at barnsley. Conor cut his holiday shoRT to train. These players were signed by the spreadsheet. You lot need to take your Wilson tinted specs off he is a has been manager.

The spreadsheet also signed scowern not Wilson. Scowern was signed at the end.of the January window when our football was terrible under Wilson we hadn't won away scince November at bramall lane. Wilson was sacked beginning of Feb. I dont think patrick would let Wilson spend his cash on josh when he was on thin ice anyway.

You're just like Hemsworth Tyke is about Roberts...you clearly have an agenda refusing to believe that Scowen was signed by Wilson until I proved it to you is just one example. You will be the same with Heckingbottom one day.

You agree that Wilson was so uninvolved in signing Conor that he made a trip to convince him..

It's about fairness. I'd say Wilson's day as a manager is just about done at the same time given that Mr Cryne told me in person that the manager/Head Coach makes all final decisions on signing or not signing players then he gets full credit from me for signing our better ones. The same for Lee Johnson time has shown him to be a piss poor manager but he gets full credit from me for signing Roberts, Mawson and Watkins and revitalising our season with some good loans. Looking at Hecky the signings made by him have been patchy but I'm still glad hrs manager and trust him in time to get some good ones in.

Fairness treating them all equally. You should try it or we will have to call you Hemsworth Tyke Junior.

Funny that your version and patricks of the Manchester airport meeting vary so much. Look at the facts scowern was signed 2 week before Wilson was sacked and when danny was on very thin ice results and performances were terrible. I doubt patrick would have let danny lose with his cash.
I have no agenda with Wilson I enjoyed his 1st spell at the club it started my love for bfc. His 2nd spell was terrible and that's been nice. His day went a long time ago. We all know the manager/head coach gets the final say. But conor was top of the league 2 assist charts and plymoths player of the season. Winnall top scorer and scunny player of season. Who wouldn't want them when the recruitment team brought them to danny attention.
