A couple of Oakwell debutant referees for the games on Saturday and Tuesday. David Rock from Hertfordshire has been appointed for Saturday. It's his fifth season in the EFL but we have had him just once before, the 0-0 draw at Bolton last October. Port Vale have had him four times, losing (the last) twice and drawing twice. The last time Mr Rock took charge of Port Vale was a 3-2 defeat away at Lincoln in April when he booked ten (five each side) and sent off three including Lincoln's keeper and two Port Vale players. I'm sure the Vale fans will be delighted to see him again! It will be 511 days since our last home league penalty on Saturday. Thomas Kirk from Manchester has been appointed for Tuesday. He has never refereed us before and is only in his second season in the EFL. He had three Tranmere games last season which saw them draw once and lose twice.
Finally the reds have come back to Oakwell. It doesn’t matter who the opposition is, our millions and millions of fans are keen to see the most electrifying team in league one. Hopefully the ref will know his role.
