    I once found a cod worm in a fresh fillet I'd bought. A bit weird and unpleasant, but as I don't eat raw cod I wasn't too worried by it. I do eat a fair amount of sushi though, but that's all red fish. I can't imagine any cod worms surviving the deep fat fryer!

    AU$11.50 for cod and chips, so about five or six quid. AU$20.50 for a large local whiting and chips, so about a tenner.

    That's the only good chippy in the entire city though. The only one that doesn't fry up frozen chips.

    Eww!! I agree with most of what you say but curry sauce has no business near fish and chips ye barbarian. :D

    The locals either pronounce it Gullane (as in seagull) or Gillane (those wearing red or mustard trousers and spilling out of Moofield)

    Archerfield is the housing scheme just round the corner for the masses.

    I've played Gullane a few times. Badly. Lovely views to console me. Never could afford Archerfield though. Or Muirfield for that matter. :)

    We go every Saturday and take out ...up until March we paid £11.20 for fish and chips x2...£14.80 now.

    Prices have been rising for 6 months for all the ingredients, Colin in our village held off as long as possible. It's not all the fault of the war,Brexit plays a big part,also he doesn't source his fish from Russia.

    That's very generous! Unfortunately my game is very, very rusty these days. We keep meaning to head up that direction. My other half has never been but I've played a lot of golf in and around Fife. Lovely place to be. :)

    Friday fish and chips I make my own.2 cod loins £3.50,chips cooked in air fryer,fish cooked in oil with my own made batter.I reckon thats under a fiver for 2 people.

    My Local Chippy in Farnham
    Standard Cod £6.00 Standard Chips £2.50 Mushy peas £1.20 = £9.70
    Bit smaller than Tunstal X chippy in Wombwell though

    To get similar size you have to go for the Large cod and Large chips which adds another £2.50 to the price.

    Thats in Shop prices - no idea what the mark up is if you get them delivered
