Made a few very good saves as well...unlucky yesterday that the Jutkowicz effort bounced back very kindly for him.

I'd say leave Flavell alone at the moment. He looks like he has a brain to me and he can't be properly judged when he has to put up with the shi.tshow that is our defence in front of him. Cut the guy some slack and just watch him over time... I suspect he'll be at least decent based on what I've seen

I think you're right, although his brain ought to tell him to cut out those Cruyff turns, as they are too exciting for me.

They don't get given. He wasn't even touched went down like his shoes were tied together.

On reflection you are of course correct. Fouls don’t get given to goalkeepers for barely any contact. Sometimes no contact at all. It just never happens…

We have to keep changing them because they are dogger. If we had anyone half as good as Baker or Watson they'd have played all season.

You're not allowed to criticize him, I pointed out he was easily beaten on his near post for the Exeter winner the other night and people were crying into their cornflakes. Same thing happened with Nwakali, he was very poor the first game I saw him live, (FA cup against Bristol Rovers). He then had a couple of decent games and everyone was talking about him as though he was the second coming of Paul Scholes. I disagreed, queue more crying and gnashing of teeth.

To be fair, I don't think anyone is "crying". Just that being a young keeper is extremely difficult, and mistakes will happen. Not really "crying" I don't think.

As for the links with other clubs? I'm not surprised to be honest. He's very good with his feet, and that's seemingly the most important thing with keepers these days. Man Utd paid over 50 million for a bloke who is a poor shot stopper and terrible at making decisions (relatively speaking). But because he can ping a 30 yard pass to a wing back he's a valuable commodity.

    Modern football innit.

Its ok to criticise anyone. I think criticism should be in context though and an overview rather than a short-term completely damning or completely praising statement. Too many people are knee-jerk imo. As far as Flavell goes, as I said above, I'd stick with him for now. He'll make more mistakes - all goalies do - but, on balance, there MIGHT be something persevering with. We'll see wont we? If I think he's crap next year after I've watched him more I'll say so.

Agreed, and let's not forget he's clearly carrying an injury of some sort. Hasn't he had treatment in the last 3 games now?

Has that been genuine injuries or sit down on the ground while we have a team talk type injuries?

    I’m glad he’s remained as 1st choice.

He’s still learning and this is a great opportunity for him.

Is he the future no1 for us? No idea.

There’s been a few bits he could have done better with - he’ll know that. But that’s all part of learning.

Either way, he needs to be playing regularly next season to keep his development up - so if he’s not no1 here, he’ll be off elsewhere on loan.

Suspect we’ll revert to Jackson again and push on from there.

Agree with this. Someone who’ll give out a proper bollocking from the back and commands his area well. But perhaps that’s an era gone by us now.

In the pub, as I held my queue, eyeing the queue ball and making a mental cue of my anticipated next shots, I called to my mate Steve by the jukebox, "hey Steve, who put this song in the cue? It sucks! Queue up the next one!". I turned back to the table to take my shot. Queue Bill, who was in the cue for the bathroom, inexplicably and without warning stumbling into my queue, ruining my shot, and launching the queue ball off the table. It rolled past Steve, past the whole bathroom cue, and finally came to rest against Micky Finn's foot as he was taking a piss.
