Couldn't resist. I think he's beautiful though. Like a footballing Adonis.

I think it helped the fact that last season finished on a high and things are looking promising for the new season. Be interesting to see how these things go if they are held during a big slump in form - hopefully that won't happen but it's amazing how quickly things change in football.

But the management team seem to know what they're doing, they understand the teams weaknesses, and Mansford seems to be really positive about where the club can go which is unbelievably refreshing after several years of Don talking about us having no money, having to balance the books and generally doing things that have eroded the clubs connection to the town, cost us a few thousand fans and potentially lost us a generation of new fans and therefore income.

Yes that was me! Got a couple of questions in so got my time. Had a few that were posted on here that didn't get asked but we ran out of time. I think most that wanted to asked a question.

Maybe they should do a deal for the theatre at the new Horizon academy for the next one. Holds 400ish I think.

The interest and momentum is there at the moment, so they should use it to spread the word. Judging by the speed those 150 tickets went I'm not sure the horizon would be big enough to fit all interested parties in. Whilst the weather is fine, I think they ought to simply do it in a section of the ponty, sit them at the front with a couple of speakers, it would cost them nowt and they could get loads more in.

I can type quicker than I can write. Ok it's maybe not very grammatically correct but I can also read my typing better than my written hand.

Sorry didn't get the chance to check PMs etc so didn't get your message until I got home.

    Thanks Gally.
I would love to attend these type of things, but living away and work are an obstacle. So the summary was great for me, and I look forward to seeing it on Player.

A great bit of work by Ben, Flicker, MM and Scotty last night. It is absolutely fantastic to see the club re-connecting in this way. Pity about the microphone at times - it seemed to me that Flicker's strong voice was overpowering it, triggering the cut-out. An event like this needs to be heard properly, but you can bet your sweet life that Ben will be on to that one. The camaraderie of the management (and admin) team was striking - they clearly have a superb unity of purpose. From what I can see, Gally has done a superb job of capturing what was said.

When you reckon it up, yesterday may have been quite special in the modern history of the club. There was this event, Ben meeting the local MP and furthering connections with the town, some clear spadework on what promises to be a couple of interesting signings, and some of the uncertainty surrounding Patrick being resolved. We're so used to hopes being dashed at Oakwell, but the current foundations being laid look so solid that we have every reason to be very optimistic about the short to medium term future.

The final thing I'll say is this. Five years ago I was stood with a dozen guys in the queue waiting to renew my ST in July. Simon Davey pulled up outside the box office and walked past us all without a word. Contrast that to what Ben is doing now. It says it all. Good on yer, mate!

    COYR!

Many thanks for this Gally - interesting reading

2 big positives - first the whole tone of the meeting and answers to the questions is great

Also the fact that we have finally moved away from this bizarre idea of telling a select group of fans ( in confidence ) what the clubs plans are and forbidding them to tell those that werent at the meeting.

If this is going to appear on player thats excellent news for fans like me that have no way of attending these meetings
