You have just illustrated the historic, terminal problem of wholesale revolution! ;)

Our future lies with Dowing and Cryne now. There will be an almighty backlash if Flicker walks.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. I doubt very much he's demanding huge sums of money, and nor are they needed. Just enough backing to enable us to even vaguely compete in the transfer market.

Flitcroft also knows he's done this on no money whatsoever and that since Christmas we were play-off form. Im sure given a little money to add some more quality and depth to the squad, he'd back himself to make a good fist of it. He's not laying down an ultimatum in my view, he's asking them to rise to the challenge and make sure they are on the same page as him, the players and the coaching staff.

How about a fans Kickstarter? We could raise another £1m in no time :)

Yep. Would guess he wants guarantees that he'll get a little bit of backing, and more importantly that if we are pushing for the play offs come January, the team won't be dismantled in front of his eyes. Which means three year contracts where required, and no stupid release clauses.

I don't dispute your numbers but, are you sure that we don't have player sales in our budget? I'd think that ~£1M will be in there.

But isn't this exactly the reason Robins left. He wanted to kick on with a bit more backing but was told "no can do". Hopefully the transfers out of the club would give Flicker the opportunity Robins never got.
