I have two or three big issues with us not bothering to practice. 1. If we aren't taking them in training then how do we know that our best penalty takers are taking them on the day? Scotland has now missed with two but still takes them. Perhaps if we had took a few in training we would have identified that he's **** at them? 2. If the pressure can't be replicated then and thus penalty practice is pointless then why are we wasting time having luke steele practice penalty saves? The pressure isn't replicated there either. 3. The goalkeeper is the variable
Anytime you aloof lovely person you ps, you don't come across as either of the above to me although I do quite like the idea of you posting whilst wearing a monocle and top hat
Specsavers soon. Been told I need glasses. So that's a receeding hairline, that's going grey. And now glasses. Am 31 on Tuesday ffs.
**** that. I'm pricing up a pair of Curly Watts as we speak. Not really. Am walking down Carlton Road getting piss wet through before an 8 hour shift in a fridge. Livin la vida loca.
1. How do you know that Scotland hasn't practiced taking penalties all his career and those are the first two times he's ever missed? 2. As a goalkeeper myself, it's extremely difficult to 'practice' saving a penalty. All you can go from is the body language of the player, the 'tells' that he gives off, then make a guesstimate on the side you're going to go, and dive. That's it. If the penalty is good, then so be it. 3. I guess so... but the action is still the same. Hit the ball at the goal from 12 yards - it's hardly frigging rocket science and professional footballers should really be hitting the target (at the very least) 99.9% of the time. That's a big 'should' though. 4. This thread is probably the biggest waste of time ever...
