Flitcroft's latest interview, very interesting....

No we're not Flicker - win one of the games in hand (we've two games in hand on some teams) and we're alrerady out of the bottom three.

 

Maybe, maybe not. But I think he'd be able to answer a simple question about one of his players without clamming up and calling the interviewer disrespectful.

Surely the goalkeeper has to take some of the blame for that? He should at least be able to command his six yard area and and just clear everything out, ball, attackers and defenders if needs be.

 

he would rather put league two rochdale **** on if we had hassell instead of wiseman on saturday thaat as expierence in big cup games he would never of gifted nasri as much space for the first two goals all fans should get behind hassell on tuesday we are conceeding too many goals hassell as done well for the club

 

i'm not saying he doesnt,but the main problem is that we never got a decent centre half.....and we've got one or two that play who in my eyes arnt good enough for the championship.

he must be sick to death of answering it.

he clearly doesn't rate bobby that highly, he's the manager and so will live and die by his decisions.

It is a bit of a disrespectful question insofar as it is usual Radio Sheffield mischief-making. I am not completely convinced that there is as much pressure from the fans for Bobby to be playing - I think it is being stirred up by Radio Sheffield.

Can't understand where you're coming from there Chef mate. Radio Sheffield asked about three players: Mellis, Dawson and Hassell. Why is it disrespectful to ask about Hassell, but not to ask about Mellis and Dawson? Why is Flitcroft happy to talk about two players but not the third?

Radio Sheffield haven't mentioned Hassell in their questioning for weeks, so I don't understand when you say he must be sick of talking about it.

He asked the same question about Mellis and got an answer, Flitcroft went on for ages about Mellis , why is it disrespectful to ask about Hassell who also has not been playing?

It's a question that has to be asked. When were down to bare bones at the back and we have a fit capable player in the squad, why is Bobby getting looked over in preference to tinkering (not successfully) with the defence.

It was the answer, not the question that was disrespectful.

Gone down in my estimation after hearing that.

 

For the first time since Flicker took over..I now think if we go down,thenf he also will not survive. If he's proved right on the Hassell thing...ie we have better players here and we dont need him, It will be proved..and we stay up. If not this Hassell thing will come back to bite him...

Is it? I can see teh poinbt when he's answered the same question about two other players.

"I played Kelvin TuTu at RWB as there was no-one else". Meaning I coudl have played Scott there but that woudl have meant playing Hassell at the back...

Appreciate they haven't asked it for a while but its been done to death in my opinion. They know the answer, we know the answer - surely? It's clear he doesn't rate him, otherwise he would have played him more often. He can't come out and say it because it would destabilise the club so it is a pretty unanswerable question imho and I am pretty sure RS will know that? Perhaps disrespectful is the wrong pejorative to use but I can see what he is getting at.

I rate Bobby and I think he is a model professional but I fully accept it if Flitcroft doesn't and I am quite sure that he can't rate him that highly evidenced by his team selections.

I also think RS offers great coverage; however, at the risk of sounding paranoid I am pretty sure they have their own agenda when it comes to BFC. I won't forget their ridiculous analysis of the Morgan/Hume incident in which they nailed their colours firmly to the mast.

Perhaps I am just being paranoid?!

gone down in myn aswell how can u not consider hassell when we have conceeded 14in 4 games bobby hassell done alot more for are team then flicker hes on about bringing more people in when we already have a played that as done a great job for us before

I'm right behind Flicker, but he's as evasive and sensitive as Hill on the subject of Bobby Hassell. There are bits of gossip doing the rounds. but nothing that should prevent selection in a view to picking up vital points. He goes on to admit we are short of defenders, which is practically condemning himself should we continue to lose matches. To give him the slight benefit of the doubt, perhaps the leading question on the non-selection of Mellis pissed him off and the Bobby one tried his patience a bit too far. And I know folk like to slate Radio Sheff, but I thought the questions were fair and current.

You've lost me there mate. I haven't a clue what 'pejorative' means! You solicitors are all the same using big words to confuse us all.

I personally don't think Radio Sheffield were causing trouble, just asking about an injured player and two who haven't been getting much game time. Although I understand where you're coming from on the Morgan/Hume incident. Even if you're right and Radio Sheffield were causing trouble I think Flitcroft could have given a much better answer to the question.
