Downes - 3 years on his contract. 2 Premier League teams bidding for him. Sold by a Championship club.
Woodrow - 1 year left. Sold to Championship club with one of the lowest budgets. Sold by a League 1 club that have no money
Morris - 1 year left, with an option that probably wouldn't have been affordable unless bouncing straight back up. Sold to and from same club as Woodrow.

    Not the best comparison...

Hopefully any clubs that are interested in them will realise that they were managed by two incompetents.
Like you say though we are selling them at the worst possible time in terms of value.

Im lowering my valuation of them now, and I'll be surprised if we get anymore than 3.5 mill combined. :(

Guessing they’ll do well from a sell on though. Wonder if anyone fancies paying a big fee for Holgate?

    Exactly.

Phil, I've hardly ever agreed with you on many subjects, but this is one I do so completely. (Edit it's not Phil is it lol)

Unfortunately it means I have to blame someone who "saved us" to make that point being too risk averse. Something which isn't generally allowed on here.

I fear we may become risk averse again

Nobody gets on at anyone when they have criticism for Patrick. It's when it's unjustified or completely unverified schtick levied against him that people have a problem with. If it's true we wouldn't go to 500k from 450k, then it's a fair criticism, and obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing - nobody expected Charlie Adam would go on to be the footballer he turned out to be. He didn't always get as much for our talent as we probably should a lot of times, but I'd damn sight rather that, than spend money and keep players who haemorrhage us financially and end up being the next Wigan, Derby, Bury, Macclesfield, Portsmouth, Bolton...... list goes on....

Ipswich have form for that sort of thing. It's part of the reason they're around mid-table league 1.
