Wasn't it stated when Hillcroft arrived at the club that flitcroft had a business brain and during their time at Rochdale he got involved in the negotiations and business side of the club? I actually heard KH tonight on radio dee dar say that flitcroft was talking to cranie regarding a deal as he himself was concentrating on the boro game.

I don't think you can assume just because Barcelona and man city conduct their business in one way that everybody else does the same, every company in the world don't operate like ICI.

It makes sense that Hillcroft help out this way as we can't afford numerous staff to work on the contracts side, jeez the don has to run the club practically himself as it is. Casting my mind back I thought the fact they could do this was one of the reasons they were appointed as the management team.
