Been in Spain for last couple weeks near Malaga and I must say the quality of living in general here has jumped leaps and bounds above ours in the last couple decades in multiple aspects!

Just splashed out on American style fridge freezer .
Compulsive behaviour in old age .
Let's see if this helps .
But thanks for all the advice regards buying from supermarkets.
It's convenient buying from one store.
But having listened to some of our BBS knowledge going to give it a try.
After chucking out half bag o spinach and green grapes and strawberries today.

And being nosey - where did you stay? We were literally on the border in Spain in A Guarda. Went to Portugal numerous times as the beaches were better!

Porto Portugal then drove up the Coast staying in nice spots.
Landed in Santiago de compostela purely by chance.
A Coruna was nice city .
Then drove East to Bilbao staying overnight in some lovely spots.
Great drive through the mountains towards Bilbao.

Cool. We went to Porto and A Coruna by train from Vigo - cheap as chips too. Second time we've been to Porto and still crazy busy and hot (May). We did the journey along the top via Asturias to Santander and agree the mountains are stunning. Very beautiful country is Spain - and deffo more than just Costas/Benidorm (tho nowt wrong with 'em if thats your thing).

Porto is wonderful. We've got friends in Lisbon so go there a lot, but hadn't visited Porto until last year. Only went because the flight home from there was loads cheaper but very glad we did. Fantastic city, and very different from Lisbon and the Algarve.

Weather much more pleasant also 26ish as opposed to 36ish in the South.
Cheap as chips also like you say.
