I agree with the OP. This is a football forum. It clearly says so before you come in - Barnsley FC BBS Fans forum. But it’s not just here where it’s all going wrong…. I called in a pub called ‘The Ship’ the other day. And you know what? Not one single person was talking about ships, boats, yachts or any other sea-going vessel. In the end I tried to strike up a conversation with the landlord about seamen and got chucked out. DISGRACE!!!
Know exactly what you mean -- called in at The ***k Inn Birdwell...........all they talked about was football....!
Ahh, this oft-repeated mistake.... This forum is, and always has been, an open platform. Topics allowed on pretty much anything. Every incarnation of it, right back to Jerry's original email list in the early-mid 90s, has been exactly the same. Therein lies its charm. Don't like it? Try the others.
If you pop over to Owlstalk, it's full of different sub folders with owls, non owls, other sports, tech and so on. It's a rubbish idea in my opinion, some of the sections haven't been added to in ages because no one's going to delve into them, whereas here you can quickly check to see what's been posted.
If you banned non football posts, that wouldn’t magic up more football ones, you’d still have the exact same* number of football threads so you’d be no better off than you are now. * I expect there’d in reality be way less as people wouldn’t be hanging out on here at non football times.
