    Missing the point

Many responses on here represent a range of feelings towards hooligans. Thing is, that wasn't the question. What is asked is wether hooligans love their club.

Irrespective of what people think about hooligans and the rights and wrongs of their actions I believe they do love their club. Otherwise there is many cheaper options to go and find someone to have a punch up with.

Some people dont listen to the question asked and only answer the question they want to answer

    Still hooligans

And even if they are "a firm" with their wonderful "moral code" that doesn't mean innocent passers-by don't get caught up in the trouble, or why law abiding football fans gets treated like a potential criminal just because they are going to watch a sporting event, or that it creates a hostile environment that puts some people off going to games.

    RE: Missing the point

I suppose some do and some don't - those that don't see it as a means to an end, those that do "love their club" are obviously very misguided in thinking it does anything positive for the club.

    Have you read it?

I don't think anyone mentioned loving their club. It mentioned football fans or thugs.

Then it asked for 'opions', which confused me.

Personally, I think they should just stand in car parks and have hoola hoop competitions, they wouldn't look any more ridiculous.

No I didn't read it I thought I would follow the lead of most others on here who responded.

I got a bit lost when onions were mentioned

I'm no psycologist.......................BUT, what about Sir Francis Drake

Theres more to this football hooligan game than meets the eye
For a start off there's different levels and catogories
The police have recognised this and used to have (may still do) catogories A, B, C
The 'As' were the ones looking for trouble, the 'Bs' were the ones that would kick off if it started. Haven't a clue what the 'Cs' were but I would imagine they were the guys who would run if owt happened.

When I look at the make up up the Barnsley support i would say there's 1000s of catogory Bs
And probably 200 or so catogory As that turn up at local derbys or when its likely to get lively

Then there's all the psycology of the hooligan element...........and to understand this you need to understand animal behaviour........e.g. dominant males, territories etc etc
Watch a bit of Attenborough when he's following a pack of chimpanzees in the jungle and you will get an idea of whats happening
    OR
Watch an old film that shows the British invading a country and kicking the smoke out of the local population and again you will get a feel for whats happening with football hooligans

Sir Francis Drake et al..................... football hooligans the lot of them........... This is what made Britain GREAT

So, in essence, some people evolved and some people didn't.

No, football hooliganism is part of us all.............and what about ...WOMEN

some males still show these basic instincts and some don't
Then again, some males would not be in a position to be able to show such aggression because they are low in the pecking order
All of us are not that far removed from the jungle

    Remember, while men are doing this sort of thing, women too are showing that they have not been out of the jungle for very long. Only got to look at how they choose a mate............guys have to be;

    1) Rich......a good provider for her and their potential offspring. Thats why a girl who go's for the guy in the nice car is following her natural instinct.

    2) Powerfull....again a good provider for her and their potential offspring. Thats why girls marry powerful men even though they are ugly. How many powerfull men have you seen with lovely wifes. But these girls are only following their natural instinct. And its an instinct that relates to any offspring they may have.

    3) Good looking guy.........these guys provide potentially good looking offspring. These offspring then go on to attract many more mates than average and therefore should in theory produce more offspring. The women in these cases are making sure that their genes are passed on.

Better still, is when a women can get all the above catogories 1,2 and 3 wrapped up in just ONE male..............and thats why my missis is so fortunate (nodding2fingers)

    RE: If it's organised

90% of the activity is away from the ground!!!

FFS please understand the subject before posting such replys.

The trouble you see around grounds is most likely chavs and pissed up 15 yr olds trying to look big.

Not saying what happens is right or wrong just saying the the organised firms would not been seen attacking shirters or causing as much trouble around the grounds these days, infact quite the opposite.

    Football hooligan

Someone who causes trouble and is violent at or in connection with a football match.

These could be idiots, drunks or chavs - they may not be any.

Similarly idiots, drunks or chavs might not be violent and cause trouble.

    RE: Graham Linstead.

Im new to this site & realise this was an old posting but I was scanning through old conversations & it led me to this. I find your comment interesting & would very much like to know what its based on.
Were you with Graham at the time?
If so its not a particularly friendly sort of comment to make is it?
If you werent with him I guess you're basing it on hearsay & supposition whih isnt wise OR accurate is it?
Id REALLY like to hear from you about this so dont be shy eh?
